BB King was just asked about political comments during the war and he said "I think that there are going to be alot of things said tonight that I don't agree with."

Way to go B.B!

Oh God, is it somehow POSSIBLE for ANY LIVING HUMAN BEING to ooze as much CLASS as Tony Bennett's amazing self??

I adore that man. I've been a fan since I was a teeny tyke listening to "I Left My Heart in San Francisco". In 1992, I was an oddity -- listening to both Nirvana's "Nevermind" and Bennett's "Steppin' Out" album of classics.

I like Frank Sinatra fine, sure, but Tony Bennett -- he is a musical WONDER. *sighs*

Well, her album won eight. She won five personally, tying the record for most Grammys by a woman.

Barry Mannilow concert attendee....*hanging head in shame*

That's nothing ;-). I actually *sang* in a Barry Manilow concert - back when I was in college. He went to the university's music dept. to "recruit" temp singers to do the "One Voice/I Write the Songs" finale. Actually it was a blast, truth to tell. Love Manilow's song writing ability - he is really a good performer, but hate his politics - he and Streisand apparently see eye-to-eye in this respect.

She seems a bit flabby too (and yet her song was used to advertise a healthclub).

She has good work out music...her flabby body could work in a weird sort of reverse way...

Maybe the activist actors should try to negotiate the peace between these two.

It's just like the deal with John and Yoko Lennon. They talked the game about love and peace and then couldn't bear to be around Paul McCartney. Yoko still gets in an outrage that Paul would like to have Yesterday read "Paul McCartney-John Lennon" instead of "John Lennon-Paul McCartney" like all of the other Beatles' cuts; no difference in the royalties, just a credit notation change.

Thanks. I looked around and it looks like "Dead Prez" is a Sony-backed band.

Composed of rappers Stic.man and M-1, Dead Prez first appeared on the Loud Records compilation '97 Set Up with "Food, Clothes and Shelter." After meeting in a traveling national activist organization, Stic.man and M-1 joined forces and began writing material that speaks out against social controversies, including racial oppression and capitalism, holding sacred the teachings and practices of social defense parties such as the Black Panthers.

Is that sweet?

YAY about Dirty Vegas! I like that song, "Days Gone By", and the video's a really nice one too -- it's almost G-rated really, with the lack of jiggly bottoms, drug-taking, drinking, and all of the other "gangsta/rocker boy" video cliches. All it's about is a man who dances to win back the heart of a woman he lost a long, long time ago, and how a family stopped at a traffic light witnesses some of his dancing.

Let's try this again. After you said five and the radio said eight, I checked the wire services site. She won five Grammys and three other awards for a total of eight. The other awards were for best song of the year, for best engineered album, and for producer of the year which went to others associated with her and her album.

There are some catty comments against Nora on the SherylCrow.com forum. I wonder if those will be allowed to stay while the dissenters from the AntiMrBush line are deleted.

Dustin just totally dissed Texas. He said the Dixie Chicks are from Dixie. What a butt!

Methinks someone (*ahemDustinahem*) needs to be taught a lesson or two....

Emily Robison (the brunette) lives in the San Antonio area, so yay! Erm, even though I don't like country one bit... but they DID do a pretty good job covering the Fleetwood Mac song "Landslide" and I do think it's kinda cool they've gone back to playing bluegrass, which is more tolerable to me than country (go figure).

Anyway, boo hiss on Disstin. If he even had an iota of info on TX, he would know we are so not "Dixie"!

they are leaving my comments up...

here is a good question:

"Does ANYONE know if Sheryl's name was accidentally skipped in the Best Pop Vocal Performance category nomination announcement? "

Why would they do that? She didn't beat Sheryl in any categories, and Sheryl won a Grammy herself for best female Rock performance.
