BB King was just asked about political comments during the war and he said "I think that there are going to be alot of things said tonight that I don't agree with."
Way to go B.B!

When I resumed reading the thread someone mentioned San Diego, which reminded me of seeing the band Boston in San Diego in '77. I remember seeing the movie "Carrie" during the same trip.

Her cover of that standard is the best thing on the album, imo. She's in her element there, no doubt.

Has anyone on the thread discussed how Sheryl, when she had her "break through" album, ripped of songs that other songwriters had shared with her while jamming, and one of these songwriters, who saw his song become a hit without him getting any credit or bucks, committed suicide....

Drudge taking a caller who said it would have been nice for the Grammys to have had a moment of silence for the victims of the nightclub fire. Drudge responds that they would never do that -- a moment of silence costs money and they couldn't afford that.

(Mental note: Purchase Norah Jones CD)

Shoot I thought I finally found a artist I could enjoy. Norah is a great singer, was until now low-key. But thats going too end. She will be everywhere all the time now. Everyone will try this music and I wil grow tired of it.

Hasil Adkins has been performing for decades longer than Mojo Nixon and doesn't get into politics.

Why does Bruce Springsteen always look like he is having his nuts ripped off when he sings? Did he take singing and acting lessons from Joe Cocker?

Alicia Keyes is what happens to girls that never leave a city.

Biggest concert regret. Being too young (by less than a year) to see Roy Orbison. He died 5 days later. My two biggest regrets - Missing the Original Lynyrd Skynrd and Original Van Halen lineups. Ronnie Van Zandt died before I was born, and DLR left VH(the first time) when I was 6.

Her cover of that standard is the best thing on the album, imo. She's in her element there, no doubt. Exactly what I thought. A great song, and a very talented and promising singer. If some of these singers would carefully select great songs to do (and forego the publishing/songwriter royalties for their self-penned rants and whines), modern rock would be so much better.

Their 'Rush of Blood to the Head' CD is awesome. Is it? I like what I'd heard from them on the radio and have been waiting for someone to come along and tell me which of their albums to get. Could you be that person? :-)

Was that the guy who wrote 'Tuesday Night Music Club?' and 'All I Want to Do..(Is Have Some Fun)'

Drudge responds that they would never do that -- a moment of silence costs money and they couldn't afford that. Just as their anti-war statements cost too much ...

The Mojo Nixon line is from the Dead Milkmen song 'Punk Rock Girl'.

Heard about that a while back. ....she should be ashamed of herself for the rest of her life.

Everyone will try this music and I wil grow tired of it. My regret on Norah Jones' fame is that I missed her when she played as the opening act at Numbers last year and now the shows will cost more and be less intimate. Congratulations on her success but I may not see her live now.

And Why do I feel old? You are old...or getting there anyhow. Them people in their 20's, you don't look like that no more.

Garfunkel has/had a voice of an angel. When I was in high school, I listened to "All I Know" a LOT. Just beautiful.
