RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINS AND THE MELTING OF SNOW FROM THE PAST WEEKEND WILL CAUSE THE OHIO RIVER TO CONTINUE TO RISE ABOVE FLOOD AT MANY LOCATIONS. ONCE ABOVE FLOOD STAGE...THE WATER WILL BE SLOW TO RECEDE DUE TO MORE PRECIPITATION THAT IS FORECAST AT THE END OF THE WEEK...WHICH WILL ALLOW WATER LEVELS TO REMAIN ELEVATED. THE OHIO RIVER AT MOUNT VERNON. * 7 AM WEDNESDAY STAGE WAS 28.4 FEET AND UNKNOWN. * FLOOD STAGE IS 35 FEET. * WILL RISE ABOVE FLOOD STAGE THURSDAY EARLY AFTERNOON. * THIS WILL CAUSE MINOR FLOODING. AT 40.0 FEET FARM LAND AND SOME MAIN ROADS ARE FLOODED IN PLACES SOUTHWEST AND WEST OF MT. VERNON. THE OHIO RIVER AT J.T. MYERS DAM. * 6 AM WEDNESDAY STAGE WAS 31.0 FEET AND RISING. * FLOOD STAGE IS 37 FEET. * WILL RISE ABOVE FLOOD STAGE EARLY SATURDAY MORNING. THE OHIO RIVER AT SHAWNEETOWN. * 7 AM WEDNESDAY STAGE WAS 29.1 FEET AND RISING. * FLOOD STAGE IS 33 FEET. * WILL RISE ABOVE FLOOD STAGE THURSDAY MORNING.
