I think this German sentence gives insight into why Germans are so reluctant to go to war. They have a very cheap view of life if killing 3,000 gets you only 15 years in prison. And it shows me that they have lost all sense of morality if they cannot distinguish between right and wrong any better than that.

Yes, this is symptomatic of the way things seem to work in the Old Europe nowadays.

Oh, but the guy was only an accomplice, and the evidence was just circumstantial. Life is indeed cheap to Germans.
