Who is Andrew Halsey and why is he doing this?

He is a Brit who has epilepsy. As to why, because it is there.

He has had a hard time getting sponsers because of his illness. There is more info on him at that site.

You wouldn't hear about him in the main line press, unless you really dig....I got hooked years ago following Mick Bird in his attempt to row around the world....He gave it up after rowing from Calif to Indonesia...To much time away from his family and all the hassle getting sponsers.....
