United States intelligence says Al Qa'eda has been planning a major attack, but that attack has been thwarted, or at least interdicted for the time being, by the large number of arrests taking place over recent weeks.

US bombers have been placed on alert for possible deployment for operations over Korea.

The United States has selected the head of the Iraqi National Congress, Ahmed Chalabi, to lead a transitional government in Iraq once Saddam is deposed.

And the "worm" that infected the Internet recently was able to do so in about 10 minutes - the fastest yet seen.

Brrr. Just got back from a quick run to the bank. Temperture has dropped into the 20's and there is white stuff whirling around the parking lots. I think we will have chili for supper tonight.

Today will be our last day of our 3 days Tropical Heat wave...we are to get into the 50's today with about 1/2" of rain...then the big freeze returns again tonite.

I went and picked out a new dryer on Sunday...they are delivering it on Thurs. It'll feel good to be able to laundry when needed for a change.

Neets...I meant to say how happy I am for you...getting your fryer. For 2 years..while we were building our home...I had to go to the laundramat. NOT fun.

Thanks toots...Actually I am kinda split on this...I do finish the laundry quicker when I am schlepping to the laundromat...Of course because I can do 4 loads in less the time it takes for me to do them at home...but once the home one gets rolling, I won't be doing 4 loads in a day...hehehe.
