This thread is for those of you who wish to memorialize the men and women of STS-107 Columbia in verse.
It won't help anything, but it might make you feel better. Quality of verse is not required; sincerety is. Haiku (5-7-5) encouraged.

 Like snow, on green pines
 Floating, flying to heaven:
 Seven falling stars

To: All
    A Firebird Falls
Man dares, and stands taller then all before him,
who dares to try for all great things outside his reach.
We dare the worst, to make the best out on that shaky limb,
to tap the source of our yearning souls, as life's lesson teach.
High they flew, and much they dared, the golden prize in sight,
And great the fall they had to take, to answer God's last call.
We remember the Seven, with pride and honor in their fight,
who sailed the seas of empty outer night, into History's Hall.
We honor them by going on, to win the things they dared,
and make for them a final name among the distant stars.
Onward, the call is given, see courage and honor paired,
remember their dream, the Moon, all Space, and even distant Mars.

    On a shaft of fire
To labor above the Earth
And then home to God
To: All
    Nice work, all of you.
Rand Simberg is running a similar poetry collection over at Transterrestrial Musings. Please feel free to post these fine poems there as well.

To: B-Chan
    They soared into the heavens
With all their hopes and dreams
Not knowing that their aircraft
 Would break apart its seams.
But God, in all his Glory
 Was watching them that day
 And gathered all His Angels
To bring them Home to stay

                               | Their dream will live
 they gave their all
 they were tall

now in halls lighting the skies they fly
 they are looking in

at the edge of time standing on the rim
 seeing the beauty
 angel eyes...

and standing in the midst of the mighty
 white fleet of heavens
 angelic messengers

yes they are tall...Yes Gone to Soon
