AMERICA - The Right Way!! (WEEKEND EDITION - Days 742 and 743) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | February 1, 2003 | All of Us

Posted on 02/01/2003 4:23:25 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail![President Bush]

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Jimmy Carter says that President Bush has not made the case for war.

The United States and Great Britain, according to British dispatches, have given Iraq six more weeks - time that will be used to convince skeptical Arab countries and France to get on board for military action.

Satellite pictures indicate activity at the Yongbyon nuclear facility in North Korea showed that state may be about ready to produce plutonium for nuclear weapons.

And President Bush has signed a directive, the Washington Times is reporting, that allows nuclear weapons to be used in response to biological or chemical attacks.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I'm not sure if he did, but I'm sure his heart is heavy.

My prayers go out to all affected by this terrible shocking tragedy Guennie.

I was out doing errands while Bit was here with Mom watching TV...I heard the news first that they had lost contact with the Shuttle...only to find out when getting home what had happened.

How very very sad.

Space towns and areas such as Houston, Fl and Huntsville take pride in NASA and the work done.
The pysche of the towns are hurt badly by tragedies like this.
In fact, all Americans, from Maine to Hawaii, who value our brave astronauts and the American spirit of adventure and exploration grieve.

Hi.....Just got to work this am.....No, I had nothing on this mission.......Thank you so much for your prayers.....

I've been wanting to write all week....but have just been overwhelmed with stuff.
The skier from Colorado that died in the Avalanche in B.C. a couple of weeks ago.....Well, his cubicle is about 10 steps from mine. Verne Lunsford was an outstanding test and design engineer. I travelled on one business trip to California with him one year ago and last August he and I sat together watching that first ATLAS V launch (he worked on it too) on the monitor as he kept looking at me and laughing because I was holding my breath while the thing rose up into the blue sky.

We buried him last Monday. He was 49. So am I. The first words spoken at the funeral by his best friend were, "This wasn't supposed to happen."

Verne was in the prime of his life. Countless times, I would go over to peek out the window next to his cubicle and the next thing I knew we were talking bicycles or trains. He got to fulfill a lifelong dream last year when he and his father went on an expedition to Antartica together. I'm so glad he got to do that. I told his father so at the funeral. He appreciated my words. I simply told Verne's wife I worked with him and that I would be praying for her.

Verne was beyond 'expert' in his level of skiing. I'm not much of a skier, but those that are can testify to that. The day Verne left the office for the ski trip, on his way out, he stuck his head in our supervisor's office (who was on the phone) with a HUGE grin on his face. There are pictures all over his cubicle of the unbelievable mountain peaks he has skied.

Our company, as did our country, lost an outstanding aerospace engineer.

I'm waiting for reports of celebrations in Muslim countries. If so, why wait to start bombing!

According to the running thread on the other side, somebody said that CNN or BBC was reporting that Al Jazeera was yukking it up over this. Those aren't human beings, they're lower than the scum I scrape off the bottom of my shoes.

Here it is:

To: concerned about politics

i was just interviewed by VOA -- i've done a bunch of writing on the shuttle over the years (got a pulitzer nomination for this in the miami herald) -- and was told that they're celebrating bigtime on al jezeera. made me want to vomit, but that was a feeling i first got when the clueless fox and friends crowd said the shuttle was "a minute overdue," lacking even the wits to realize that the shuttle does not circle the patch awaiting clearance.

anyway, they're having a happy time over in the land of the religion of peace.

Thank you, Molly.......he died doing one of his favorite things in life.

As far as the Columbia situation goes, and in opposition to the current line, I personally say that I suspect terrorism until proven otherwise.

...and was told that they're celebrating bigtime on al jezeera.

Well, it didn't take long. This brings to mind an old saying: "You don't poke a sharp stick at a sleeping bear."

Every day I see more evidence that the Arab world needs to be re-colonized. In a manner such that their children, their children's children, etc. fear the phrase, 'the Americans are coming'.

I live in south Louisiana, about 300 miles from Dallas. We heard it here. Lasted about 15 seconds or so. Loud rumbling similar to a train. I thought my neighbor had cranked up some kind of heavy machinery in his back yard it was so loud.

We usually go outside to hear the sonic boom and watch the vapor trail. As we were about to go outside I read GRRRR's thread. About four minutes after that Fox broke with the story. So sad.
