AMERICA - The Right Way!! (WEEKEND EDITION - Days 742 and 743) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | February 1, 2003 | All of Us

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail![President Bush]

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Jimmy Carter says that President Bush has not made the case for war.

The United States and Great Britain, according to British dispatches, have given Iraq six more weeks - time that will be used to convince skeptical Arab countries and France to get on board for military action.

Satellite pictures indicate activity at the Yongbyon nuclear facility in North Korea showed that state may be about ready to produce plutonium for nuclear weapons.

And President Bush has signed a directive, the Washington Times is reporting, that allows nuclear weapons to be used in response to biological or chemical attacks.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Just stopping by to say goodnight. Press is horrible. The President looks drained and sad. Prayers for him and for his family and staff.

See you all tomorrow!

The Armed Forces Hymnal that my Dad used when he was a Navy Chaplain has a different 4th verse to "Eternal Father, Strong to Save." It is as follows:

Lord, guard and guide the men who fly
Through the great spaces in the sky,
Be with them always in the air,
In darkening storms and sun light fair,
O hear us when we lift our prayer
For those in peril in the air!

Mozie, that Candlemas Dinner sounds absolutely wonderful! I'm not surprised that you received quite favorable reviews. Ü You've become pretty ambitious in the kitchen and it sounds like you're really enjoying yourself. It's great that you're feeling so much better now and are able to do things like this and the medieval dinner that you did at Christmastime.

I copied out that fried rice recipe myself. It looks good AND EASY, just my type of cooking!

Oh, you're welcome about my posting of the hymn. I was happy to do so.

Hope things are going better now at home ...

That's lovely, LBKQ. The link that Brad's Gramma provided shows a number of alternate verses, including yours. Here's the end of the one you posted ...

Aloft in solitudes of space,
Uphold them with Thy saving grace.
Thou Who supports with tender might
The balanced birds in all their flight.
Lord, if the tempered winds be near,
That, having Thee, they know no fear.

Good night, Miss Marple.

The press really is the lowest of the low. When you think it's simply not possible for them to sink down any deeper, they always manage to do so.

I'm joining you in your prayers. God bless our President and grant him strength.

That verse is the official AF Hymn (if I remember correctly, it's not played much). Which is different from the Air Force song. The AF song begins with "Up we go, into the wild, blue yonder...."

And of course, the official AF poem is "High Flight".

And of course, according to Marines, the official AF drink of choice is a Shirley Temple. ;>)

Just checking with you all. Funny that we found your post stating "it is all Bush's fault" because at dinner tonight, Larry and I were trying to figure out how Talifero (the slobbering liberal commie on 810 a.m out of SF at night) could find a way to blame our President. Isn't is just AMAZING how the liberals can twist things and have the willing media print it as fact!!!!

Keep your blood pressure down Doggie...you need to stay healthy to battle the BOOBS!!!!

Hi Lor,

Things at home are up & down, esp. girlchild-wise. She's in a funk right now that she can't seem to shake. Part of it is adjusting to being home from France, I guess; plus she hates winter (Yes! My daughter hates winter!!!)......she'll prolly brighten up when the weather gets warmer.

I really did have fun making that dinner; now I'm going to start searching for some fun Valentine's Day recipes; I already have St. Patrick's Day figured out.:)

I've now seen criticism of UOx42 and of President Bush for the space shuttle tragedy. Both accuse them of insufficiently funding the space program. Both criticisms are ridiculous.

Did you know one of the astronauts was from Wisconsin?

Dr. Laurel Clark was from Racine, and graduated from UW-Madison.

I just went outside for a few minutes; the snow is beautiful.

The press needs a scapegoat, and since Dubya is in the White House, they're more than happy to try and place the blame on him. x42's gutting of NASA won't get much play, but I'm sure we'll see him biting his lip and moaning "I did everything I could to make sure our astronauts were safe, blah blah blah" as he insinuates that it's all Bush's fault. And the media will eat it up.

It may not happen tomorrow, or even next week, but trust me, it will happen.

john, have you sent the hot salsa receipe? I may have missed it. Fried rice, ohhhhhhhhhh, I'm missing it, it's one of our favorite fast foods in this house, it's never the same from meal to meal, but always tasty.

You have got to admit, Saddam has an incredible knack for making the liberal useful idiots supporting him look even more unbelievably stupid and naive than we could ever hope.

No, James and I are on opposite teams, and he's not giving up recipes until after the 7th, when the competition ends.

In the words of the prophet Isaiah, "Lift your eyes and look to the heavens. Who created all these? He who brings out the starry hosts one by one and calls them each by name. Because of His great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing."

The same Creator who names the stars also knows the names of the seven souls we mourn today. The crew of the shuttle Columbia did not return safely to Earth; yet we can pray that all are safely home.

May God bless the grieving families, and may God continue to bless America.
