We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
This is a quick start this morning as I am getting ready to head on over to CPAC, but I will leave you with this thought - Fox News Channel had, for the State of the Union Address, the highest ratings in the network's history.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

My goodness, me up in my attic, cleaning it out---well---suppose to be getting rid of all the junk, problem is, it ain't junk to me, it is treasure. I throw it in a 'save box', d pulls it out and says 'nope' and it is thrown away. Dolls, must have pulled out over a hundred and they ARE saved. My old hand crank inc cream maker, saved. MOTHER EARTH NEWS, old copies, saved. Folks I am having a blast! But here is the best, my three copies of 78 rpm records with GENE AUSTIN, who was Gene Austin? THE Elvis of the wee 1900's from Waterproof, La and yes as a wee tot, I met him and one of the records its the AUTOGRAPHED one, a most collectors item. Gene (I met him once so I can call him Gene) use to rent entire hotels for parties in NYC, he was THE ladies man.

I have been finding stuff as I clean the basement, although nothing as vintage as your items (we have only been here since 1980).

Ouch for your sister. More and more surgeries are arthroscopic it seems, so when the surgery isn't, it reminds me of just how difficult & painful the invasive kind can be. (Hope that makes sense.)

Remember when the Jaws toy came out? Found one, still in the box, never opened.

Is there a thread about the shoe bomber, and his going crazy in court, like the note on Fox News says?

okay - 2 years ago just as I headed into the Lib. of Congress, they started evacuating...a gas leak or something. ..so it doesn't have to be anything very sinister.

Here's a link to the C-SPAN schedule, cause there's some good stuff there tonight, and the network will most likely be showing some of the C-PAC speakers the next few days...

Wrapping up a few things before leaving for the evening...
Mr. M, that was always hard when the boys were young and sick, and then felt a little better and wanted to go outside. Hard to say no..
Purdue - Glad to read that your husband found a job after so many months. That is heartening!
and dittomom, thanks for the Miller link. Wish I'd caught that. Does Leno publicize his guests ahead of time. If so, I should check for that regularly..

OK, what's the deal with C-SPAN? If we are going to even consider getting cable or dish TV, I want to know about some of the channels and assume C-SPAN is included in nearly all packages.
I remember hearing how it revolutionized TV in a way because it bypassed the talking heads. But it recent years I've heard conservatives grouse about C-SPAN and how it has changed. Do you know what they're talking about?

Looks like MSNBC could be about to bite the dust. Here's a paragraph I just read at Jim Romenesko's media news.
Verne Gay is amazed that it's come down to this: MSNBC, which began with so much promise almost seven years ago, is about to hand the keys over to a one-time Navy SEAL/ biker/wrestler/movie star/XFL commentator/best-selling author/ radio-show host/former Minnesota governor. "If Jesse doesn't work," writes Gay, "then Microsoft and GE, which own NBC, will pull the plug on MSNBC. There is nothing -- nothing -- behind Jesse Ventura. If his show flops, there's no plan B, C, D or E."
