We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave member of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Reuters is reporting that North Korea warned that if sanctions are imposed against it for its nuclear weapons development program, it will mean war.
The Washington Times is saying the troop buildup is moving along in such a way that a February attack against Iraq could be ordered by the President.
Meanwhile, the Iraqi Government announced it is building two defense rings around Baghdad. The outer ring is composed of regular Iraqi army and Republican Guards. The Iraqis expect that defense line cannot be held, so they have built an inner line, composed of "Special Republican Guards." (This is the first such mention of these units I have come across - wonder if that was because of the miserable showing of the "vaunted" Republican Guards in the 1991 war. Wonder if these "Special" units will do any better.) The Iraqi Government says it is upon this defense line the American army will break.
Stateside - Dick Gebhardt announced he will not run for any more Congressional terms after his time in the 108th Congress is over.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Uh oh! Take care John....Have some of your delicious chicken soup.
Hi polly! Going to start planning our trip to NY soon. Will keep a look out for those commercials...
One more thing, Mr. M, and lysie: the dr. did say he should aim for the modified Atkins diet...
But it's pretty neat that my husband's own efforts led to this result...
I went to the eye dr. this afternoon for my usual 6-month check. Have to use eye drops for glaucoma, and there's not a darn thing I can do to change that, unless it's laser surgery, and he hasn't mentioned that.

And,
THANK YOU!!It was YOUR discussing the diet that got me to thinking about it and husband responded!

I lived in Vienna, so perhaps my views are skewed... Vienna is pretty bad. OTOH, Old Dominion Drive is pretty much do what you want. (Of course, now that I've said that, I'd probably better watch the 40 MPH limit down the long hill toward the National Park.)

I can only state my experience. I've recevied two traffic tickets in the Washington area - one on Highway 95 in Howard county - deserved that one (70 in 55, was actually more than that, got a break - I was in a hurry and took a gamble I could get away with it once, nope). The other in Vienna, VA, on the hill I described. Speed on the ticket (about 45 - a little less, don't remember if it was 44 or 43, but close to 45 - in a 35) was right, but don't think it was fair. It was because I opted to coast down the hill in the very early morning hours (the other option is to ride the brake down the hill, thank you). Not fair tactically, but not contestable. Definite trap. (BTW - the Vienna city police also like to hide in the driveway of a church further down the road, where it is zoned 30 MPH. Think that is really scuzzy, using a church parking driveway/parking lot that way. If I'm ever cited from there, that will be a cause celebre, citing church/state issues, use of private property, etc.)

What a day it has been, OUR Prez hits the democracts right between the eyes with a knock out speech, Rumsfield gives a knock out briefing, little tommy d. decided he could read and saw his ratings are way down, the birds flew and the fish swim, what a day. Now, to the other side of life.
WHEN we take over Iraq we are going to learn things that will shock the world well, the USA anyhow. We are going to learn about torture, the deaths in prisons, the weapons of terrible destruction, the back side of life as we know it today. I say catch Saydam and hang him from the highest tower that can be found, on TV at 5PM for all the world to see. Oh yeah, FRANCE is getting her troups ready, sheesh.
I have to run now, fixin supper again, salamon, grits and peas, sounds good , huh?

After our cat returned from her adventure years ago, we ended her "outside" days. Later we got another cat...he's black and has never gone outside.

Later we got another cat...he's black and has never gone outside. We had a black cat when I was growing up in New York. His name was Lamont. Funniest thing - he would go outside in the winter, and attempt to stalk small creatures across the very white snow. He wasn't too smart about camoflague.

All - gotta run. Later.
To: Chairman_December_19th_Society
LOL! Well we got ours in November...and the animal shelter said we were the first family allowed to adopt a black cat since Sept.
Weird, awful people apparently do mean things to black cats around Halloween.

Welcome home, kittyMolly, my uncle used to have to take drops and aspirin for his glaucoma. His sister, my aunt, told him about a certain vitamin/mineral/herb. Since he has been taking it...the doctor has taken him off the drops.
I'll ask.
