There was a pretty good depression going on well before FDR got elected...And I'm old enough to remember it.....no lol... ......Westy......
Yep, there was a pretty good recession going on, but FDR turned it into a 12 year Depression. Without WWII or Republicans, we would still be in it.

We watched Joe Millionaire last night. After it was over, my hubby said that he couldn't believe I made him watch it. Well, I thought it was a hoot. All these bimbos, thinking this guy has tons of dough. There were little clips, with them saying such things as "I'm looking for a man with a heart of gold". Oh. What are they going to do? Rip out his heart, melt it down and sell it? I can hardly wait until the last episode, when the "princess" he chooses finds out he doesn't have $50 mil, and he makes only $19,000 a year. Do you think that she will marry him anyway, since she loves him for himself? I think we know the answer to that already, since he is back at his construction job, and still single.

I think this discussion about FDR and an "FDR sytle recovery" started yesterday when I posted that i was accosted by a young eager thing about Lyndon LaRouche. She tried to hand me a flyer, saying: "Ma'am, don't you want to see an FDR-style recovery?" I didn't care to start a conversation; I had shopping to do. Besides, I remember being that age, and that I was so much smarter than all of those old fogies. I got more stupid as I got older, or those old folks got smarter.

I have never watched one of these shows before, but I couldn't resist this one. The idea of 20 bimbos thinking this guy has dough and competing for him is just too much. The previews for next week show the babes doing "chores" around the castle. They are mucking out the stable, for one, and they are NOT pleased! I don't know how many episdoes there will be, because they are eliminating them quickly, 8 eliminated last night, and 7 will go next week, leaving 5 lucky girls.

Words fail me...You'll think of something! It's kind of embarrasing admitting to watching that show, as I've never watched any programs in that genre before. I must be deteriorating.

Lyndon LaRouche is a con man / Fascist / conspiracy theorist who has fortunately infested the Democrat Party instead of the Republicans. Occasionally one of his people will win the Dem primary for some local office and cause multiple coronary bypasses in the Dumbo leadership.
About ten years ago one of them won the chairmanship of the county democratic party in Houston. The liberal Dems all wanted to run the party, but none of them realy wanted to do the work of running it, so none of them tried very hard to be elected chairman. They seemed to think it was automatic. Then they ran around looking like an African Dictatorship for 3 months while they changed the rules to make the chairman a figurehead only.

A few years ago in San Francisco, someone handed me a Lyndon Larouche flyer. I read part of it, crumpled it up and tossed it in the nearest trash recepticle. I don't remember specifics of what LaRouche was about, but I do remember I didn't want any part of it.
