We're down in Cape Coral. Land of canals.. Nice family community. No touristas...so the traffic isn't that bad.. ;)

I have been to lots of places in Florida, just don't know about Cape Coral.

Yes, we are on the gulf side. Marco is a little less than an hours drive south. Our friends live in Naples and Marco. So we aren't that far apart.

We stayed at South Seas a couple of times when our kids were little. Rented a boat and went romping in the canals chasing dolphins, exploring, etc.

Nice area. Nice memories.

I had a note from Ringy last night. She is going to be stuck in Europe through Newyears at least. She isn't real happy about it but she is carrying on. If any of you were expecting E-Mail from her and haven't gotten it, that is cause a computer problem wiped out most of her address book. I have E-Mailed her a copy of my address book, but you might want to send her a note and inclose your E-Mail address in the note.

HOT DANG .. I've been trying for awhile to get more information about my dad's military service during WWII and I have been in touch with a really nice man that was also in my Dad's Division (69th Division).

I could prove that dad was in the 69th because of the medals he received .. But I couldn't figure out what Regiment/Company he was in.

Well this nice man (joe) received an email from someone about his father's service and one thing lead to another and Joe found this book he had ... and there was my dad's name

So long story short Dad was in
69th Division
271st Infantry Regiment,
Company K, second platoon

I kind of remember Fort Meyers as crowded when we stayed in Captiva. Did Coral Beach miss all that? That canal looks like it snakes a long way in to get to your house.
