xshub was expressing concern yesterday that my Christmas present had not yet arrived.

Hah. Mine arrived in town yesterday -- but I can't get it. The mailman tried to deliver it yesterday but nobody was home. So he left a form saying I could pick it up today at the postal center (which is about 100 meters from work) after 9. So at 9:10 I arrive -- and he's already out on the route, to try to deliver the package again. Arrgh..

I bought my Peke Chanukah and Christmas presents. She's spoiled.

Office Max has these neat digital cameras on-sale. $9.99 after mailin rebate....................!!!!!

These pictures were taken with one of those. (Or at least last year's $10 digital camera.) Not bad... though the Windows interface that came with it was hosed; I had to download a later version.

Especially since the muslim gentlemen who owns a middle eastern food store earlier the same day wished me a Merry Christmas. Strange times in which we live.

Well, I've now received a Christmas e-card from a Muslim colleague in Cairo, via http://www.arabia.com/cards/view/english?ticketno=xxxxx, another greeting from China, and a third from Japan (that doesn't really count, because he is a Christian).

I, on the other hand, have come down with a nasty cold that kept me up much of the night coughing -- don't know how I'm going to make it all the way to midnight Mass, which is well past my usual bedtime anyway. Maybe the rector will have mercy and excuse me from service tonight and/or tomorrow...

I get both too. Alex gets her all her Christmas presents, and I get her all her CHanukah gifts. She is the most spoiled Peke you will ever meet.
