The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

When I went to start my car this morning there was this wierd coating of "hard" water on my windshield. It wouldn't go away until I turned this thing on called a "defrost(?)".
I think we are near the end of the world.

I watched
Signs last night. As Count Floyd would say "Oh, creeeepy!"
My wife and I enjoyed it. That is the first time a movie has scared me in a long time. And then at about 1:15am this morning one of our smoke detectors decided, for no apparent reason, to sound off.
I nearly had a heart attack. I got a glass of water and went hunting through the house........just in case. ;^)

Well, our windshields are not icing yet in Miami. Are you from up north, or did you grow up in FL?
To: Lil'freeper
Hey LF!!
I remember that Pippin sawed off his bonds just after the Rohirrim attacked the band of Uruk-hai. So, if memory serves, his hands were free when the horse reared up over him. :)
As far as the whispering, I will wait until the DVD release and put on the subtitles. That was the only way I could determine what was being said by the Ring in FoTR. LOL!

What got me was how well behaved the dogs were, there were four of them. They were all happy and clean and didn't jump on you. But of course, my dear. Such behavior would be beneath them, don't you know. *grin*

We are curious if anyone knows if Pippin's bonds were cut before he rolled over to see the horse above him. Yeah, what Ruthy said. Plus, I seem to remember it being part of what Aragorn said as he was tracking them...or am I making that up?

I watched Signs last night. Jr. and I watched it Friday nite. I wasn't prepared for it to be as creepy as it was.
I haven't decided yet if I liked it or not.

No, you aren't. Aragorn says "their hands were bound." Then he says "their bonds were cut" which he follows with "the tracks lead away from the battle". That is when they show Pippin rolling out from under the horse and he and Merry running beneath the other horse to run towards Fangorn Forest. :)
I am such an addict! *laughing*

It was pretty creepy for sure. The other movie I thought was creepy, but liked, was that one, with Val Kilmer, where 2 lions were terrorizing a crew that was building a railroad. Forget the name of it.

I'm originally from NH. Transplanted to FL in '98.

Wasn't it the Shadow and the Darkness or something like that?

I know this will sound like an urban legend to you, but I swear, that stuff on the windshield, sometimes on top of it can be softer stuff so thick that you have to shovel it off.
To: HairOfTheDog
Oh, I meant to say thanks for the Sean Astin pics.
That face, those eyes, that smile......*sigh*
