Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Morning to one and all!
It's quite chilly (for Miami) this morning (49 degrees), so I've made lots and lots of strong, hot coffee for us. Of course, juices and tea are available as well.
Got a bunch of T-bone steaks yesterday for the Hobbit Hole dwellers and I debated on whether or not to prepare steak and eggs again. But then, I figured who would complain? LOL! So, Steak and eggs, 6 platters of bacon, 6 platters of sausage patties, 2 bowls of sausage gravy, 2 bowls of grits, fresh buttered french bread toasted in the oven, buttermilk biscuits and hash browns, nice and crispy! ENJOY!
2J - those puppies are soooooo adorable. And I love that pic of the mini hugging your arm. *grin* Your mom looks so happy, it really warms my heart to see it. My aunt is searching for a Basset Hound. If I had the money, I would have bought a male and female adult pair they had at the place, who had been abandoned by their owner after he had gotten drunk and not noticed that the female had a litter of 10. Because they were outside and the temperature dropped so quickly, all 10 died from exposure! Grrrrrrr.....people like that make me sick! I wanted to get them both, but $300 is pretty steep since the price doesn't include vaccinations or spaying/neutering. :(
Hair - keep your eyes peeled today! *wink*
ItsOurTimeNow - breakfast is ready so come and get it, even if it's on the run! Glad your job is going well and you are in my thoughts as well. ((hugs for you and yours))
Ksen & Sam Cree - Mini moot this weekend! YIPPEE!!!!!

The coronation of the king will be a beautiful scene. Yeah. Aragorn might acutally (finally) showerm shampoo, and shave for his transformation into Elessar.....;^)
To: osagebowman
not really understanding the question, could you elaborate? Is there a particular scene? Hopefully I'll remember it or else be 'forced' to see it again for research purposes. Yeah, that's it, research.Sorry, I should have been more clear. I meant the way the Rohirrim, whether on horseback or on foot, would tend to hold and fire their longbows sideways, so that from the front they sort of looked like a crossbow.
Maybe I'm the only one that noticed that.

Decaprio was no older when he was nominated for What's eating Gilbert Grape.... Heh...I thought you said Decrapio...
And what about Haley Joel Osment for The Sixth Sense? He was nominated for best supporting actor. And Anna Paquin (spelling) won for The Piano.
Hullo. Good Morning.
We are trying to be productive while the little one is still asleep.

"Yeah. Aragorn might acutally (finally) shower, shampoo, and shave for his transformation into Elessar"
Hope that doesn't screw up his looks, though.
Good morning everyone.
To: Sam Cree
"Hope that doesn't screw up his looks, though."It will! LOL I've seen Viggo all shaved and cleaned up and I'm sorry, but I don't think he's attractive at all!
But....give him some scruff, longer hair and some dirt and *thud*!
To: Corin Stormhands
Your welcome, Master Dwarf. ;)
I thought I'd run everyone off again when no one came to breakfast for a while.

Mmmm thank you! I'll have steak & eggs with a side of the crispy hash browns!

And Anna Paquin (spelling) won for The Piano. The spelling is correct, and she was wonderful in that film. another one she was in that our kids loved is "Fly Away Home".

Yeah she was great in The Piano. Fly Away Home...that's the one about the ducks...or geese, right? I never did see that one. I thought it looked good though!
Just a bit of trivia....I popped in my Titanic tape the other day because I hadn't seen it in a while and there was Bernard Hill playing the captain. I always thought he looked somewhat familiar, but never did "imdb" him.

Mornin' . Hope all is well with you and yours. We sat for viewing #4 on Saturday and caught a lot of the 'details'.
We saw the rope on Shadowfax , the saddle horn, and Legolas' leaping leather buckle. We saw PJ and his chilrun, but missed Vig's boy. We are curious if anyone knows if Pippin's bonds were cut before he rolled over to see the horse above him. When he does this, it appears that his arms flail to either side, something that could not happen if his hands were bound.
Regarding the whispering. The voice of the ring has changed. No longer is it the raspy, yet resonant black-speech voice of FoTR, but more of a siren wail. But when Frodo confronted the Nazgul on the wall, there was an urgent whispering that was not the ring-voice and I wondered if it was the Valar. It seems that I am the only who has heard this (no comments, plz). This time, I heard the whispering during Faramir's test. The whispering rises in intensity right before Frodo breaks away saying "No!" It is subtle, but definately there. I guess until we can hear the DVD commentary it will remain a matter of opinion if the whispering is 1) there at all, 2) the voice of the ring, 3) the voice of the Valar. *sigh* Might have to go see it again! :)

You should have seen one toy poodle puppy they had...it was 11 weeks old and looked like a little round ball of fur, smaller than a football, with little legs sticking out the bottom that couldn't have been 3" long tottering all around the house! It was hysterical! You couldn't see it's ears and you could barely make out it's eyes, it was just a black ball of fur!
Every time I tried to pet it though, that mini would come over and get right up next to me. No jumping, no pushing...just standing next to me like it was waiting for me to pay attention to it too. It won me over, as you can tell and I held it for almost the entire time we were there. Most of the time it had it's head down on my shoulder. It was just the sweetest thing.
What got me was how well behaved the dogs were, there were four of them. They were all happy and clean and didn't jump on you.
