The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Hello All.

I have laid a fire, as the high today is only about 55. There is actually a freeze or frost warning in effect for the interior, tho it's not supposed to get below about 41 tonight here, near the bay.

Anyway, will light it up as soon as the dogs are fed in a few minutes. Last night, had a hard time staying warm in bed. I know, this sounds humerous, for Miami.

But I am looking forward to the fire, the first this winter.

You poor thing....

Here, have my cloak. I won't need it for another 20 degrees!

Good afternoon!

Oh, thanks.

Well, now to light the thing and feed the dogs. Then, maybe a glass of bourbon to go with it, since it's not a usual event.

We should send Hair to check on Scott from time to time just to make sure he's not sleeping with the fishes.

I will check the papers every morning.... make sure he doesn't disappear!

There is a nutcase who thinks he is actually the governor who has been stalking Locke lately... Maybe that will keep them busy and they will leave our Scott alone!

That's a very kind thing to say. Doesn't seem so honorable from the inside...just seems like chaos (this is what happens I think when the attorneys take over something).

One of the great ironies of this situation is that the people on the other side, for whom I followed the law and acquired this great enemy, aren't all that much to talk about either!

In between spouts of whistle blowing, I have been pigging out ever since they left two hours ago. And before that we had our usual gigantic pancake breakfast that Steve makes...more like a brunch.

LOL! I read about that guy. If this thing breaks into the press, it could happen soon and it could happen in a few weeks (I'm thinking sooner is more likely). The Daily O will jump on it after the financial press breaks it. Another of the great ironies here is that my [still] job is to 1. prevent it from breaking into the press, if possible and 2. control/manage/minimize it if it does.

Both are pretty impossible, but then I might not be doing it very long either!
