We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
In other news:
New York City transit workers remain on the job, claiming progress is being made in contract negotiations.
The Coast Guard intends to deploy drone aircraft to keep watch in the Florida Straits.
Senator Nickles is calling for a new election for Senate Majority Leader. Word has it that Rove would prefer the Senate be led by Sen. Frist.
And UOx42 claims he wanted to attack North Korea in 1994 when it was revealed that Nation was pursuing nuclear weapons, unless Pyongang agreed to freeze operations.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
IG, Welcome back! I hope your trip went well.
Guen, so glad things went well with your performance. Did your 2 sisters-in-law attend, as you had hoped they would? If so, did they enjoy it?
Chair, thanks for another start to our day and for sharing the picture of your gorgeous tree and decorations.
kayak, I saw your request for prayers for your mother-in-law and the family and am keeping you all lifted up. Thanks for all the wonderful graphics last week.
Molly, enjoy your little respite. I've been feeling much the same. Somehow the news and FR isn't quite so compelling right now, when there's so many Christmas and family activities to be involved in. We'll miss you and look forward to having you back with us in the New Year.
gulfcoast6, yippee! You'll soon be on your farm! Mr. Mulliner, it's moving day already ... Best wishes to you both for happiness and prosperity in your new homes.
That just sounds so flakey and tender to me.
It may be that 97 was behind Tree's decision not to run by denying him access to money.

And who said January was going to be a dull month?
Thanks! I needed that! ...... :-)
Granny ~~~ glad to have you back. We missed you. Hope your trip was successful ....... *hugs*
gc6 ~~~ if you or your daughter have an accountant who does your taxes, he/she could answer your question in just a second or two ..... and probably wouldn't charge you for just answering the question though certainly would for filling out the forms.
..... in the past, if you put the proceeds from your primary residence into another primary residence within either 2 or 3 years (I've forgotten which) then you didn't pay taxes but you did have to file a form.
ALL ~~~ A hectic day in store for us. We're trying to get ahead on some things in case one or both of us are needed in Wilmington later in the week. Prob'ly won't be here much.
Prayers for all y'all and all y'all's alls!
If you sell your home, you may exclude up to $250,000 of your capital gain from tax -- or up to $500,000 for married couples. The 1997 Taxpayer Relief Act contained a big break for homeowners. If you sell your home, you may exclude up to $250,000 of your capital gain from tax. For married couples filing jointly, the exclusion is $500,000. The law applies to sales after May 6, 1997. To claim the whole exclusion, you must have owned and lived in your residence an aggregate of at least two of five years before the sale (this rule is called the "ownership" and "use" test). You can claim the exclusion once every two years. here
Wise advise from Miss Marple, kayak and Chair..always consult a lawyer.
