AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 691) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | December 12, 2002 | All of Us

Posted on 12/12/2002 4:18:16 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

WAR ON TERROR ALERT-- The Pravda is writing this morning the Adminstration has credible evidence that Al Qa'eda took possession of a chemical weapon, containing VX nerve gas, in either October or November from a middle eastern country, which was named. The country? IRAQ!

In a related issue, the President has ordered the military to receive smallpox innoculations, and the shots will be made available to the American public for anyone who wants them.

Otherwise...

Had power this morning! Yippee! Had three separate outages yesterday, each between 1 and 1 1/2 hours. The last coming in the evening. The morning commute was treacherous - a lot of water had refrozen over the evening, so it was very slow going.

North Korea has announced they will bring back on line an old-style nuclear reactor they had planned on decommissioning. Their reasoning is the plant is necessary because the United States has suspended oil shipments.

China, meanwhile, is expected to try and urge her neighbor (North Korea) to adopt a "different behavior."

A report shows that up to 70% of '911' calls placed from cell phones were in error. One of the leading causes is programming '911' as a speed dial number.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

"There was no advocacy of segregation. "

That's what Lott should have said, instead of apologizing, IMHO. By apologizing, he made it appear that what he said is exactly what THEY are saying that he said. If he would have come out forcefully with a statement making it perfectly clear that he was not, nor had he ever, advocated segregation, and been indignant that anyone could ever THINK he would advocate such a thing, the whole thing could have blown over by now. It's not so much what he said but how he has handled it since that bothers me. If someone is not a racist they need to react STRONGLY and INDIGNANTLY and QUICKLY to any suggestion that they are.

Rush made a good point today; Lott caved on the impeachment trial; he caved on sharing committee chairmanships; he has gone out of his way to "get along" with Daschle and the democrats..........................and look what it got him.

I won't comment on the Lott issue. I remember back right after Our Presidents Inauguaration and before the dems had stolen control of the Senate and Mr. Not-a-Lott was comprimising with the Dems and giving them partial control over comitttees and what not...I said then he should step down as leader as he has not one iota of a reference point for that title.

My throat is better; thanks for asking.:)

Now I'm just tired; and I have to type up the program for my student's Christmas recital, which is Saturday. But if I get it started now, at least I won't have as much to do tomorrow night.

I agree. I'm just pointing out that if it wasn't Lott's stupid statement it would be some other thing by someone else. They are targeting for a reason..2004. IMHO.

Feel better Lysie!!!!

Hi Mozie!!! How goes it toots?? Just got back from marathon run arounds getting reading for my away trip tomorrow.

Clutter has decorated the tree...and done quite an excellent job. I couldn't find most of the lights and other decorations from years past for some reason...so we went shopping and he picked out the new theme...blue/white/red fading lights; red/silver/gold/blue/green ball ornaments; gold bells; silver tinsel. It looks quite nice!! Oh and he bought a brand new Angel for the tree top.

Miss Marple, I wanted to share something with the forum and thought you would be the best person to address this to. I know you have grandchildren and have been involved in discussions about our society and God being left out, etc.

Well, my daughter has Animal Planet on and they are showing "Animals of the Nativity". Everybody, if you get the chance, see this show! It will be repeated several times, as cable shows often are. It includes the Angel appearing to Mary and the dilemma facing Joseph until the Angel appeared to him. Right now they are showing Mary and Joseph traveling over the desert and talked about how much Joseph had on his mind--like the taxes he would have to pay!

I cannot say enough about how much I am enjoying this show and the tone it is taking.

We put up our real tree on Saturday. The artificial trees are already up.

Tomorrow Sharpton is to meet with Racicot, I think. This should make for an interesting day! LOL!

Yes... maybe from a black point of view it might be a bigger deal, but I go back to what I said earlier, the times dictated what people believed, and said. We need to move on from all of this. The Civil rights movement came, and we as a Country grew. (Most Republicans, including Thurmond, supported this passage... Why isn't that brought out into the fray?)

We can go back and criticize those that set up internment camps of the Japanese people during World War 2, but at the time we were fighting for our survival. Yes it was shameful as we look back now, but we now have hind sight.

Thanks for your wisdom.

How long does it take to transfer a 28MB file across a 10mbit/sec LAN with minimal collisions?

Mozie...

You're right on with this.

I absolutely agree that Lott should have just fired back, instead of withering.(sp?)

I'm nervous about the Packer game. If they just settle down and play their game, they'll be fine.

Dealing with a lousy cold. (Is there ever a good one?)

Took youngest daughter to Madison to learn how to give her the injections today. Away we go...

Funny you should bring up the issue of God being left out. With our moving the office and then the ice storm, I am waaaaaay behind in my Christmas preparations and hadn't even bought Christmas cards yet. So this afternoon that particular piece of shopping was on my list of to-do items.

I was shocked! Admittedly the selection has been picked over by now as it's so late to be buying cards. But it was difficult to find cards that even said Merry Christmas instead of Season's Greetings. And finding anything even remotely religious was nearly impossible. The few that I found were really ugly. I finally found one box at the grocery store that was acceptable. We send out Santa cards and such to some of the people on our list but like to have some with a religious theme also. I have never had the trouble finding some that I did this year. Next year I will shop early and go to a Christian bookstore!

Anyway... maybe someone can educate me on this, because either I missed something else Trent Lott said, or this whole thing is a completely set up to take down a republican, and tarnish all conservatives as racist. Either way I find it completely offensive.

It is extremely offensive, NY, because it's the only thing the liberal democrats have to fight with is with piddly and irrelevent little distortions such as this. Their argument doesn't hold water at all, and as you said, doesn't even apply to today. They are on a sinking ship, know it, and will lash out at anything to make people try to forget the last election.

Pretty pathetic, isn't it?

I've had quite a day! Spent some time at the office ..... I'm trying to figure out how to use WinXP which is right much different from Win98, especially for a computer dummy. And I'm trying to get files transferred from this computer to the new one there.

Finally got away from the office and went to do some shopping. The stores were crowded ....... I wish I could just yell "fire" or something to make all the people go away but I don't think anyone would appreciate that ..... *grins*. Everyone up here lost several days because of the ice storm and are making up for the lost time.

I finally got my shopping done and came home to find a message from daughter-child on the answering machine. She spent the day at the emergency room. She either has appendicitis, a kidney stone, or had an ovarian cyst rupture! They don't think it's the appendix but can't absolutely rule that out. She definitely has a small kidney stone but they don't think it's causing her pain. It's most probably the cyst. The wanted to run some more tests but she was feeling better and needed to pick the kids up. The Jerk will have them all next week and she wanted a little time with them. So she insisted on leaving the hospital ..... and is hoping for the best.

After talking to her for an hour, then I called my s-i-l about my m-i-l. M-i-l has been in such extreme pain that she can't even sleep these days. She has finally seen a pain management doc and tomorrow they are going to give her a steroid shot in her hip to try to ease the pain from a nerve that is caught up between deteriorated discs in her lower back. Hubby is leaving early in the morning to go take his mother for that procedure but he will have to come on back home. His sister sent an email saying that she is going to leave tomorrow afternoon to go down there and will stay til Saturday or Sunday. I needed to talk to her to get all those signals straight.

And now hubby has just gotten home and he doesn't know most of this so I need to go and fill him in.

Back later.

I don't know if you have a store called Tuesday Morning near you. It is a homegoods discount store with some very nice items. They are not open daily--they'll be open for a few weeks then be closed for re-stocking. Anyway, I was there several weeks ago and they had some exquisite cards depicting the Nativity.

I must say, my position regarding God being left out is I don't fear the situation is as dire as some. In fact, I think it is getting better. This show I just watched was spectacular. The last "Animal of the Nativity" was the dove. They spoke of the presentation at the temple and then the narrator reminded us that a dove appeared over the head of Jesus when he was baptized--and they depicted this. It truly was a wonderful show.
