AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 685) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | December 6, 2002 | All of Us

Posted on 12/06/2002 4:50:00 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks in New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Now, the cleanup. More than 1.5 million people remain without electricity in North Carolina this morning.

Algore visited China recently, and it is believed he was paid to speak at a communist government-linked think tank. People could pay 50,000 yuan to get their picture taken with Algore, or 100,000 yuan to buy conference sponsorship packages.

Algore claims he was paid by BusinessWeek to attend the event: "I can tell you specifically our contract says DnmStrategies for BusinessWeek," says Jano Cabrera, spokesman for Algore, as reported by Drudge.

Drudge also reports that Nancy Sheed, spokeswoman for BusinessWeek, says: "This was not an official BusinessWeek-sponsored event. We did not pay any of the participants in the event. We did not pay any of the speakers at the event. BusinessWeek was also not aware that anybody had been invited on behalf of BusinessWeek to speak at the event."

Algore also attended an informal lunch on November 18 with approximately 30 members of the Asia society, sponsored by Hong Kong chairman Mr. Chan. Chan was an independent director of ENRON. Algore knew of Chan's relationship with ENRON because a source said he "told him before we went into the lunch."

Algore may be the master of reinvention, but he does not seem to have reinvented his pechant for Chinese money.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I have an important topic to address. I hope all will give it some serious thought and try to think about how this situation can be fixed.

We are losing some long-time members who are dismayed by the increasingly virulent anti-Hispanic and anti-Muslim posts, which are advocating violence and sound like the worst of the KKK. Quite a few Hispanic members have left. I personally find these posts abhorrent and try to counter them when I find them, but they are all over the board.

Any suggestions would be welcomed, as I do not want this forum to become a magnet for skinheads, plus I think that many of these posters are Rats who are trying to discredit FR. It is a sad situation.

I don't spend nearly as much time outside of ATRW as I used to, Miss Marple, but even I have noticed the disturbing tone of some posters. I don't have any solutions off hand, but I'm glad you brought this up.

Like Mr. Mulliner...I don't stray too far from home. There are too many losers on the other side. After reading a few of their posts on a subject I generally get the tone..and leave.

I'm all for stating our opinions, but I believe many of these people thrive on making waves and I want no part of it.

Perhaps we..ATRW..could extend an invitation to those who have left. It's sad it has to be this way.

I, as well as you, believe the abusive posters have an agenda.

A GOOD 'VERY COLD' A.M. TO ALL YOU WONDERFUL PEOPLE THROUGHOUT THIS FROZEN USA FROM THE WONDERFUL MS GULF COAST, USA!!!!

Feel like it is 40 below here this A.M., walked my 2 hours along the beach, tide waaaaaay out, seaguls looks frozen and ole Jasper, my crane friend in huddles up with his beak under his wing. I am 100% COLD! I did not sweat one drop.
Now I sit in front of the computer and drink my glass of hot apple cider and can feel it as it travels throughout my body and, its a good day for a big ole bowl of hot soup or chile.

Sorry to hear about DJ's father, my prayers go out to the family, you know there are sad times today with them. I pray that God give them comfort.

Senator election tomorrow in La, hope Susie Terrell, Pub, wins. I am sure ABG will keep us advised being she if from there. I have only talked to a couple of people from there but they are voting for her, good choice.

Prayers for all to stay well, free from accidents and to have a wonderful God day. I pray for OUR President W, he needs them and as always for the elderly, always there for you during good times, bad times. Have a good day.

Lysie, did you visit that Atkins thread I pinged you too? It was a pretty lively thread for a while. There were those who were there to defend the Atkins diet and those who wanted to attack it and then some who were supposedly in the middle. I felt myself overly defensive and think that others may have been too. For me I know it's because having done the diet (and now I'm doing it again), I've heard a lot of criticism from people who have never taken the time to learn the facts.

Believe it or not, a lot of people think that Atkins is all about eating bacon and lard. They don't know how it works, and yet they feel completely qualified to criticize the diet. Amazing.

Thinking a little more about the issue you raised, it seems to me that there are a lot of people who really are tired of liberalism forcing multiculturalism down their throat. For people like me who work daily with people from different cultures and races, I can see through the tired old dogma of multiculturalism and its unfairness. But too often people take their resentment of the unfairness of multiculturalism out on those that it benefits. It seems to me that it's seldom the groups that are benefitting from multiculturalism themselves who are demanding more out of our society. At least that doesn't seem to be the case for more than the "squeaky wheel," self-appointed "leaders" of these groups. But if that's misunderstood, then they can wrongly be made to be targets of resentment.

What do you think?

Just got my phone back and NOW I can get to FR!!!!!!!! The ice IS melting and predictions are for 46 degree high for today. There are still thousands w/out power....I luckily have mine...and my yard has very large limbs all over. My neighbor's pecan trees are ruined.

Duke Power says that this is the worst ice storm they've ever had to contend with...will take days to get power to some poor folks, and the temperature is expected to be down to 22 tonight.

To a certain extent I agree with you.

However, when I see a post that advocates a Muslim Kristallnacht, or when I see a post advocating land mines and machine-gunning of illegal immigrants, I think that we have a bit of a problem on the forum.

Glad you've made it through the worst part of the storm and have power.

Has anyone heard from kayak recently?

But my point is that the origin of such animosity is forced multi-culturalism.

Yes, the fact that there is so much animosity is horrendous. And that it is so misdirected is even worse. But trying to figure out why people come to think that way is part of the solution, I think.

This is an issue that is fraught with the possibility of liberals taking over the issue. If any of these kinds of threats are carried out, even on a very small scale, they will make front page news and the liberals will have another issue to beat up conservatives with.

Remember Matthew Shepherd.
