I read the most intesting statement today. If it is true it has real meaning for future elections and "It is the economy, stupid!"

It said that about 50 percent of Amercians own stock. I had seen that one before. It also said that 70 percent of voters owned stock.

SAY WHAT?

If I may speak in my Fritz Hollings voice, "It does seem to Me-Uh that There-ah is a whole lot-ah Investin' go inn' on out-ah dare-uh."

People who own stock are not going to be for driving those big corporations down. THAT COULD HURT THE VALUE OF MY STOCK. When a party has to get over 50 percent of the vote and 70 percent of the voters own stock, trashing corporations is not going to be popular. Every broker warns about stocks going down and holding for the long run. They talk about business cycles and all that there stuff that contradicts the standard Democrat message. People must be believing their brokers. They are giving them their money.

The big problem the Democrats have is they have been very successful for 80 years at dividing the voters into two groups.. the poor and the wealthy. The Repubicans were for those nasty high living E-VIL wealthy. The (sigh) Democrats are for the poor down trodden folk with no hope of economic improvement with out a benevolent leader to save them from the EVIL corporations and EVIL Corporate LAP dogs called REPUBLICANS.GASP!! Wait until I catch my breath after that one...

When 70 percent of the voters call their BROKER to get advice on the economy, the Democrat's traditional economic message is in big trouble.

The Democrats problem is the Poor are now a minority, and so are they.

Go Buckeyes!

*Clearing throat* Ahem.

All the Hawkeye fans in my community agree that "we" should have a play-off. It's really a shame there isn't a Round Robin in this league.

Yahoo!!! Sweet victory.

Bush administration gets Supreme Court victory in civil rights commission case.

Somehow I have a feeling this is not going to set well for ms. berry. Should lead to more very interesting meetings.

President Bush will honor President Carter at a ceremony for Nobel Laureates today. I wonder if Carter will be gracious and keep his mouth shut.

I notice that Carter somehow, although thinking the President is a war-monger, doesn't hesitate to show up for another award ceremony and TV face time.

President Bush is a much better person than I am.

The Grand Canyon was formed by uplift of the Colorado Plateau while the Colorado River simultaneously cut through the layers of rock (which had been deposited previously) as it was slowly being elevated. In geologic terms this was fairly quick (several million years) but it was NOT formed by a flood. A flood can cause deposition (as in the Nile Valley in Egypt) or it can wash away large areas and scour them (Washington Scablands, Washington State).

What a flood does not do is deposit layers of various rock types and then cut a massive canyon down through the layers. That is physically impossible.

President Bush is a much better person than I am.

we take you now to the inner-sanctum of the white house. Karl Rove is sitting at his desk deep in thought.

He thinks, "We can not rest on our laurels. We have 53 percent of the public with us... but alas 47 percent are against us"

He pauses in thought:

Then Continues. "There must be a way that we can continue to draw a clear picture of what it means to have George Bush in the Presidency rather than a weak silly Democrat."

"People are aware of Clinton. The returns proved that his campaigning reduced Democratic votes in 5 out of 6 races."

"We need a way to make the point that Clinton is not an anomaly. We need a way to contrast Dubya with a stupid idiotic Democratic President!"

"mmmmmm" "Is there any way we could get Jimmy Carter to come to the White House?" "HHHmmmm" "I guess we could try... but we will never get that lucky... Could we?"

Think of pictures and video of Carter with his bug eyed silly grin standing next to Dubya on Tv and Newpapers all over the US....

pause in thought.

Continue..thinking... "OK Karl .. get real.. Quit the wishful thinking. Get back to planning things we could actually get done."

Hey, you're good at figuring out what people are thinking ...... maybe you should write a book. If it works for Woodward, it should work for you. ...... ;-)

I find it very ironic that someone from the Vikings organization would make those comments about Lambeau because the Vikings for many years played regularly in conditions very similar to the Pack. I suppose the Vikings think they're better than the Packers for helping the game "evolve" by bringing it indoors. They're losers and it is out of jealousy that they say such things.
