I can't offer much help in your decision regarding your daughter, but I can tell you that my sister has gone through this with one of her sons. From about age 7 or 8 he started getting daily shots because he was so small. He continued the shots until he was about 15. Now he's 21 and the greatest kid in the world. He's managed to shoot up to 5' 3", just a little shorter than his dad, but taller than his mom.

One of his younger brothers was looking like he needed the same treatment, but then he managed to get enough growth to avoid the shots.

Good Morning!

NY: Prayers going up that the Lord will place his hand on your shoulder as you make these important decisions on your daughter's behalf. Whatever the outcome, you will know you did your very best for her.

Mr. M: What a home!

all: Iowa is nearly deserted today. I may be one of the few who decided to watch the Hawkeyes from the comfort of the Lazy Boy. Minnesota is not an attractive place to me in November. May Floyd of Rosedale spend the next year munching corn here in Iowa. And as for Ohio,,, well,, Oh, never mind.

Yesterday I was trying to think of the name they give this annual game between the Gophers and Hawkeyes. I remember they play for a pig trophy. Is it the Bacon Bowl? I think I'm getting that name from a charity game in Seattle, but it's the only name I can think of.

Is it the Bacon Bowl?

To my knowledge, there is no official name to this annual brew ha ha. Sportscasters have tried, unsuccessfully, to give it a name, but nothing ever sticks.

The winner of the game takes home a trophy of a pig, named Floyd of Rosedale.

I don't know where Rosedale is,,,. I've lived in Iowa 57 years,, I know the state pretty well because of my job,,,, I'm thinking Rosedale is in MN,,, or it is a fictious name.

Thank you all for your kind words.

It means a great deal to me.

My daughter is already talking about it as no big deal. (She's a gem.)

I will keep you all posted as we go through this.

The Lord has blessed me with such wonderful people as yourselves. I am humbled beyond words to see your outpouring of concern.

Thank you all. You all are the salt of the earth, and exactly the kind of people that God was thinking of when he put this ole earth together.

God Bless you!

That breaks my heart to see that, Raven. I remember the night you checked in after the fire. I really feel for you guys.

A recent Reader's Digest had a story about a family who went through hell to try to collect on their fire insurance. We have good friends who did the same. They had their dream home just about finished and ready to move in and then it burned and they had a huge fight on their hands.

Did you get those golf clubs last weekend?

Thanks for the link, Mr. M.

NY - God's love will guide you in your precious daughter's care.

Must be off, but will check back this afternoon.

Chair, thanks for the new thread today and every day. You will be missed while you're away. Have a good trip.

Northern Yankee, I think it's wonderful that the shots you speak of are even available for your daughter. I didn't know about them. You and your wife will be led to make the right decision for her very best.

Mr. Mulliner, *sigh*, I see that you used to live in my dream house. Thanks to you and Molly for the links today.

Raven, what a blessing that you and yours are okay after that devastating fire. I hope that the insurance company came through for you and that all is going well as you pick up the pieces and continue to carry on.

bev, rejoicing with you over your good news! The Lord if so good! Whew, what a relief to have that behind you, all that waiting and wondering. Hugs to you and Larry.

kayak, thanks for the beautiful graphics and yummy breakfasts this week. You always give a bright start to my morning.

Jemian and illstillbe, just can't help missing you both. You remain in my thoughts and prayers.

GOOD A.M. TO ALL FROM THE MS GULF COAST, USA!!!!!

Just got back from a 2 hour walk along the beach, north winds blowing the tide way out, cold as a well digger in Alaska (see, I am being nice) and I am typing ever so slow cause this is one old cold dude, fingers half frozen as well as mind.

Raven, My heart goes out to you and your family for your fire and thankfully, you all are OK. I know you will get back on your feet soon. My prayers are with ya'll for sure.

Chair, here is hoping that all will be well with your trip and you will be dearly missed. You take care my friend and we will keep you in prayer as well.

I am off to take a hot shower to see if I can thaw out why, it is in the 40's with wind chill about 38. THAT IS COLD!

All is well, lysie, thanks Ü. I hope that the same is true for you.

gc6, now that is some dedication, walking so far in the cold! Be sure to thaw out well and stay warm and cozy for the rest of the day. Will d and gd be returning home from their little respite tomorrow? You must miss them and your cup #2 at d's house.

Finally bought the DVD We Were Soldiers. I am glad I did. The interviews with Hal Moore, and Randall Wallace, The director, are outstanding.

Oh, here we go again, NY....wrestling for Mel, my favorite pastime, LOL!! [grins!]

I *finally* saw the movie for the first time last weekend on the pay per view...outstanding movie all the way! That movie is a definite "add to my Mel DVD" library, heh heh!

The best movie about Vietnam. They finally got it right!

They sure did. I feel sorry for the actor Mr. Duong (sp?). Vietnam is punishing him for portraying the character who was the head of the Vietnamese Army (actually accusing the actor as being a "traitor"). He was portrayed as very dignified. Ah, only we as Americans can truly appreciate the true meaning of freedom.

All the best to you my friend, and prayers up to your little one!

Morning all. Slept in this morning. Something about the weather change has ruined my sinuses. Off to find some decongestant.
