AMERICA - The Right Way!! (WEEKEND EDITION - Days 665 and 666) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | November 16, 2002 | All of Us

Posted on 11/16/2002 4:33:01 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Jiang Zemin may have stepped down as President of China, but he still retains control of that Nation's military.

Director Tom Ridge is expected to be nominated as the first Secretary of Homeland Security.

And Britain's Medical Officer (akin to our Surgeon General) announced that his country will begin an education campaign to inform British subjects how to respond to a biological or chemical attack.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Actually, it was an alcohol-free evening (being that it was in a church). The wassail was just spiced apple juice (good, but no alcohol). But it was so much fun no one missed the booze.:)

It's really fun. We are lucky, everyone looks for that perfect white elephant gift in their home to give.

I've been to Las Vegas several times, I went last year to Comdex. It was fine, just not my kind of town. I hate the casinos and the noise and the slot machines. I just don't like the feeling I get while I am there. I am renting a car this year, so some of us can leave when we want to, etc. That cost is coming out of our own pockets, but it is worth it to have wheels.

Sounds like a good idea (renting a car).

I picked up a lot of good ideas tonight for our Christmas dinner.....that's one of the reasons I wanted to go. I even found out where I can get a boar's head.:)

I still need to convince someone to be the jester, though........maybe younger boychild would be willing........

That bankruptcy bill is an absolutely gorgeous example of how politics works in this country.

Written by the credit card industry, Democrats tried to appease their money-feeders while demagoging it against abortion protesters. I didn't pay enough attention to it when it was in the House to know how and why Hyde let it through there in the first place, but back at Conference it became a huge mess, the outcome dependant wholly on the election.

I'm thinking Hyde's heart was never really in it, which is why he fed it to the wolves back at the House once assured that the Dems could no longer touch it in the Senate. Like you said, the Democrats come away with nothing. Either way, I'm glad a bad bill died.

Will they bring it up again? I hope not.

Previously, whenever Al Queda was preparing an attack there'd be some kind of generic rant by Bin Laden. That was before. That was under Clinton. Let's just say that Bin Laden was crying out for attention. Now, their eloquence is due to a excess of attention...

Elsewhere, I saw yesterday, I think, some worry over the new minority leadership. Who ever heard of the minority leader? Nobody gives a damn for a minority leader unless that person becomes majority leader.

Nance just signed up for obscurity.

Two other things from yesterday's thread I awoke with this morning: 1) Gore's complaint that a "conservative" court robbed him of the election; and 2) the art prize awarded in Colorado of a self-portrait of some kid posed as a suicide-bomber.

Gore is half-right. The Court "conserved" an election result. That's as far as it goes. Legal types have complained that the decision was "activist" in that it interfered in traditional realm of the States. But Gore is dumber than he thinks we know he is. He thinks that we'll pay attention to him because he's pointing out some hypocrisy on the part of a "conservative" Court. He thinks this will make us question that Court. He thinks we think he's so dumb to say that that we'll actually consider what he said. That's called patronizing. It's also stupid. He's dumber even than we think he is.

That decision did interfere with a State. It interfered with a State court that was trying to interfere with a Federal office and the Constitutional structures for its appointment. We'll hear about this forever. I'm glad he's still saying it. There's not an American who in their heart wishes Gore were President today. Whenever he reminds us of 2000 he reminds us of how fortunate we are that he is not President. That must mean that we're sure glad for a "conservative" Court.

Do you follow, Al?

On the art prize, I'm inclined to think that the idiot's point is actually lessened by the sanction of the prize. Imagine the outrage he could demand were his artwork banned? Nothing empowers dissent like censure. Reason must prevail unto itself, and this one is self-evident. OK, you got your stupid picture, now shut up. They kid can't complain now, so his message is stillborn.

Frankly, I'm about to decide that the man is seriously delusional. I hope that someone somewhere is measuring him for a straitjacket because at the rate he's going it won't be long before they need to put him in one .... and Tipper, too.

I expect any day now to see a picture on Drudge with Al curled up in fetal position sucking his thumb.

Which insurance company?

Sheboygan Falls Mutual, a subsidiary of Western Mutual.

Though the frame of the house was intact, they wanted us to rebuild upon the foundation. (The fire was in Jan. of 96.) However, as we went through the freeze/thaw season, we started seeing cracks in the foundation. The insurance company tried telling us that the cracks were pre-existing. It took 2 contractors, and the County Inspector to condemn the house before we could get full settlement. It was a damned nightmare.

We found out later that had we built upon the pre-existing foundation, no insurance carrier would have ever insured us.

I often wonder how some of these people live with themselves?
