We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Jiang Zemin may have stepped down as President of China, but he still retains control of that Nation's military.
Director Tom Ridge is expected to be nominated as the first Secretary of Homeland Security.
And Britain's Medical Officer (akin to our Surgeon General) announced that his country will begin an education campaign to inform British subjects how to respond to a biological or chemical attack.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
That must mean there is not much hope for we minor ones, is there?
Think Cassandra.
That must mean there is not much hope for we minor ones, is there?
You've got that right. Fortunately, I was controlling the beer, so I was able to maintain some appreciation in that regard. (Youngest is 25,, so it is okay to serve them beer on football Saturdays)
The victuals were delicious, and the music grand.
There was however a small problem with a rude jester who annoyed me greately but I took the matter up with His Majesty, who has promised to have the lout beheaded.
Mr. ML is a pretty cool guy. We actually use the word "lout" around here. It's generally directed at someone directly behind me, but I've seen the word before. Grin!

As the faire lady Kay has requested more details, I shall comply.
The mood was set early in the evening as we were ushered into the parlor of the Greate Church of Grace Lutheran. The adornements were magickal; flickering candlelight, sprigs of greenery and branches of berries gracing the table, whereupon such nourishments as crab puffs, spinach dip and fruit punch awaited us.
Then at the appointed hour a younge jester didst call upon us to gather in the dining hall of the king; where we were greeted with joyful song by a faire group of choristers.
We partook of the contents of the Wassail Bowl, followed by lovely Seasonal Fruits and a rough bread of whole wheat and honey.
After more musick and merriment, the spectacle of the Boar's Head occurred, to the delight of the Lordes and Ladyes. Thence came the main course, Roast of Pork, with Green Beans Almondine, Younge Potatoes, and Sage Dressing.
By now the jester had made his irksome presence known to myself and my companions in a most horrid fashion; failing always to show the respect due someone of my class and bearing; and after much sighing and displeasure I dispatched a missive to the King (a friend of mine from choir) with the words "OFF WITH HIS HEAD!" printed thereupon.
The response from the King was at first less than adequate (something about "putting a note in his file") but I rest assured that appropriate action will be taken in due course.
The jester, now having been thoroughly provoked, responded in a most rude fashion as the figgy pudding was being brought in to the accompaniment of many bells, ONE OF WHICH WAS RUNG BY THE KNAVE DIRECTLY IN MINE VERY EAR!!!!!!!!
At this the Lord MozartLover took extreme exception ( which he tried to hide by laughing uproariously).
After dessert we were again regaled by wonderful musick and a comique scene presented by all three of the jesters. We left with the sounds of the season ringing in our ears and a warmth of heart that comes of spending such a lovely evening with lovely people.:)
And I'll bet it was harde as hecke typing up your account ..... ye did quite welle, m'lady!
I had a much more mundane day today than your faire adventure of last night. Spent the day arranging tools, equipment, and cleaning products in our warehouse ..... and washing windows, doors, etc. ..... and then going shopping for shelving, peg board, and other such romantic things ...... :-)
I'm exhausted.
I'm even all packed and ready to go on my business trip tomorrow. I'm not too thrilled to be going, but I have some good books and hand projects I am taking to keep myself occupied.
We went with b-i-l & his date, and my best friend, her sister, and her neighbor, and s-i-l.
This is the major fund-raiser of the year at this church, and they do a fantastic job. I've known the director for years, but I never heard about the Madrigal Dinner until this fall when we went to the Renaissance Herb Faire at the Botanical Garden; he had the choir there performing and handing out fliers re: the dinner; that's how we found out about it.
Next weekend is the Festival Of Trees; this is a fund-raiser for the YWCA which we have gone to every year since the kids were tiny; there are about 3 dozen Christmas trees decorated by volunteers; the decorations are provided by sponsors, and some of the trees are quite spectacular. I'm looking forward to going to that again.
When we came out of the dinner there was a fresh blanket of snow; not much, but SNOW just the same!:) :) :)
Will you be able to drop by here some during the week?
And they had a great idea for Thanksgiving also. There were tiny little bags at each place setting. Each tiny little bag had a couple of Hershey kisses, and three candy corn. Stapled to the little bag was:
Count your many blessings
Blessings & a kiss or two
Just to say, We love you!
Each corn represents a blessing in your life.
Share your blessings.
So we went around the table and shared our blessings. This would be a wonderful way for families to share their blessings at Thanksgiving.

White elephant gift exchange....I'll have to remember that one......
