SAUSAGE, EGG, HASH BROWN CASSEROLE
1 lb. sausage9 lg. eggs, slightly beaten3/4 c. milk1/4 c. melted butter24 oz. pkg. hash browns8 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Layer cooked and drained sausage on bottom of well greased 9"x13" pan. Add milk and butter to beaten eggs and pour over sausage. Add hash browns and top with shredded cheese. Bake 1 hour
There are any number of variations to this receipe - you may substitute croutons or crumbled bread for the spuds and moving them to the lowest level of the casserole before cooking.
This receipe cannot be screwed up. ;-)

Wow does that sound good!

Hold your collective noses, here's the latest take on the Rats' future:
McPain and Chafee switch parties in January, giving the dems their majority back in the Senate. Then the dems run McPain for president, neutralizing GWB's strenghth on national security and appealing to the independents pubbies need to win. (Evidence is the two major Dem advisors McPain has added to his staff in recent days)
Makes me physically ill to think about it. But I think there are two problems with this scenario. One, I'm not sure the country would stand for a second "coup" in the Senate. And I'm not sure Zell Miller would stay with the dems, especially given the Pelosi wing in the House.
But it sure gives us something to gnash our teeth over!
Makes me physically ill to think of it.

Thanks for the yummy recipe, JL. Looks perfect for a cool day.
In other news, Clinton wins Irish peace prize. Of course, to those granting the award, it really isn't essential that he actually helped bring about peace, just that he talked about it a lot.

We have that same casserole on Christmas morning too in my family. That and Trix (cold cereal.) It is a great casserole for breakfast when camping also.

I meant to ask you... do you think that this could be frozen and reheated okay? I wasn't quite sure since it had all the eggs in it. We are trying to make things for her that she can put in the freezer and take out when she needs a quick meal.
