We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
THE SENATE HAS BEEN LIBERATED!!!
THE DASHCLEAN CAPTIVITY HAS COME TO AN END!!!
In the pre-game analysis yesterday, the media pundits, the media talking heads, the leftist prognasticators who are all visionary gave the following pronouncements:
The demoflops would either take control of the House or reduce the GOP majority.
The demoflops would hold on to, or increase, their majority in the Senate.
The demoflops would take a majority of the state houses.
The demoflops would win in the state of Florida.
Now that the game has been played, and the contest settled, it is time to look at the scoreboard.
The headline in today's Washington Pravda says it all:
1. House - demoflops FAILED. The GOP has at least maintained their current majority. The current status is:
GOP - 226
Criminal Party - 204
Can't Decide Which Party - 1
There are still four races that have not been decided. These are:
CO 07 - GOP leading 48-46% with 88% counted
LA 05 - headed to runoff, 3 GOP candidates with 66% of the vote
NM 01 - GOP losing 49-51% with 98% counted
TX 23 - GOP losing 47-52% with 74% counted
2. Senate - demoflops FAILED. The GOP has gained absolute majority. The widow Carnahan has lost her race, so applying Missouri law, Daschle is no longer the Illigitimate Majority Leader, and resumes his correct title of Minority Leader.
LATE BREAKING - MINNESOTA CALLED FOR COLEMAN!
GOP - 51
Criminal Party - 46
Can't Decide Which Party - 1
There are still two races left to call:
Louisiana - headed to runoff, 3 GOP candidate with 51% of the vote South Dakota - Thune(R) leads by 949 votes with 99% counted
3. Governors - demoflops FAILED. The GOP retains a majority of the state houses.
GOP - 26
Criminal Party - 19
Can't Decide Which Party - 0
There are still five races to decide:
AL - Incumbent demoflop leads by 3,139 with 100% counted. Likely recount.
AZ - GOP losing 44-47% with 99% counted. Likely recount.
OK - GOP losing by 6,357 votes. Likely recount.
OR - GOP losing 47-48% with 76% counted.
VT - GOP leading 45-42% (13% for 8 minor candidates) with 96% counted.
The demoflops hoped to legitimize Carnahan. They failed.
The demoflops hoped to win in Minnesota with Mondale. They failed.
The demoflops hoped to cashier Jeb Bush in Florida. They failed. JEB WINS BY SEVEN POINTS! NO RECOUNTS, HANGING CHADS, OR MISSING ELECTRONS HERE!!
The demoflops hoped the voters in Northern Virginia and Tidewater Virginia would willingly vote to raise their own taxes. They failed - on both counts.
The demoflops hoped to make the election a referendum that would denounce the President. The President picked up the gauntlet. THE DEMOFLOPS FAILED IN EVERY CATEGORY POSSIBLE!
IT IS A COMPLETE DEFEAT FOR THE CRIMINAL PARTY.
Tomorrow - we get down to business. But...
TODAY - WE RELISH OUR FULL VICTORY.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
It did break the fence, but that's beside the point....GRIN!

Exactly. I trust youse guys about as far as I can throw y'all.;^)

There always was a core of enlightened self-interest in there. Good call. ;>)

Some churches feel that their members would be unsettled by having "poor people" come there to eat. AND, I have to confess, that a couple of churches have actually put this to a vote and their congregations don't want to feed the poor and homeless. Go figure, I can't!
I meant to the detriment of the poor. Some folks you can't feed, because they won't work. To their detriment.
What has happened to the Church when people are "unsettled" about feeding the needy? I'd like 30 minutes to teach those churches Christ's vision of feeding the poor.

"Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these My brethren, ye have done it unto Me."
They have a heavy burden to bear.
Trill says it's because folks don't want them coming back on Sunday and trying to talk to people. About the Word. Where they can get saved. And turn their life around.
Yes, it can get ugly, and it's often not tidy. Life is like that. I would vote to feed the needy.
/john
However, I'm not one to care who we are feeding, or why, because there are so many, many different hungers that can be fed just being in the presence of others, having that meal, sharing companionship, seeing the group of nicely dressed and groomed volunteers who are willing to greet you and serve you a hot meal, just listening to the noise and clatter around you as others converse ~~ all of that and more feeds the hunger of the soul and that, to me, is the most important part of Loaves & Fishes.
Boom! ;>)
/john
You do good work. May God bless it.
It's time for me to call it a night. God bless us all. Each, and every one.
/john
Our church has a pantry which gives out food on a daily basis to those in need. Most of the recipients are not members of the parish. The lines are often long.
Contributions come from the parish and from other churches in the city.
At the Thanksgiving Day liturgy, instead of just putting money in the collection plate during the Offertory, people process up the aisle with bags of food and leave it around the altar, to be brought down to the pantry later for distribution.
BTY - I'm with you on food thing - lots more to it than just a meal.....
Time for me to call it a night.
God bless you, Sweetie!
