No, not to their detriment at all. Loaves & Fishes is completely self-funded through grants and contributions, we have our own commercial kitchen and only need dining rooms. We supply dining room mangers, all the servers/cleaners/etc. from our 800-900 strong group of volunteers, security and even pay for the gas/electricity/water/garbage that we use.

Some churches feel that their members would be unsettled by having "poor people" come there to eat. AND, I have to confess, that a couple of churches have actually put this to a vote and their congregations don't want to feed the poor and homeless. Go figure, I can't!

I meant to the detriment of the poor. Some folks you can't feed, because they won't work. To their detriment.

What has happened to the Church when people are "unsettled" about feeding the needy? I'd like 30 minutes to teach those churches Christ's vision of feeding the poor.
