Many of the poor and homeless we feed are bi-polar, relapsed druggies/alkies - but we also feed a large and growing number of families who have minimum incomes and can't stretch their money through the entire month.

However, I'm not one to care who we are feeding, or why, because there are so many, many different hungers that can be fed just being in the presence of others, having that meal, sharing companionship, seeing the group of nicely dressed and groomed volunteers who are willing to greet you and serve you a hot meal, just listening to the noise and clatter around you as others converse ~~ all of that and more feeds the hunger of the soul and that, to me, is the most important part of Loaves & Fishes.
