The only thing to do about California is to try to ignore it. In some ways I don't mind Davis winning so much as we are in SUCH a mess can't imagine how dems will ever climb out. Oc course I felt that way last year too.
Lorena, when I tried gleefully to surf the TV last night - hoping to watch dem meltdown - was unable to get news on ABCCBSNBC as they were, at least from 6 to 9, having sitcoms. Were you able to see them? Maybe they didn't like what was going on or couldn't handle the lack of exit polls. Would have liked to see Rush.
What a wonderful election!!! With the Senate maybe we can get ANWR. It is ridiculous but I feel personally more secure already!!!

Thank you. I didn't know about that little tidbit. Very interesting!

That is awesome, Nicollo. Very chilling indeed. Too bad most of the Rats aren't bright enough to actually know what you're talking about.

Are you sure of your facts, CT? I know that in Daschle's first run for the House, there was a runoff and recount that rivaled Al Gore's tantrum two years ago. He was sworn in in January, but both he and his opponent showed up because there was still dispute about who actually won and would be sworn in.
I've never heard anything about it taking a year and I do question that it took so long.

"I can't believe that MA, of all places, has a Republican governor."
Massachusetts has had a Republican Governor for more than a decade.
The real problem is the veto proof Legislature.
The real "power" here is held by the Speaker of the House. He gets about 9000 votes (I should check that). He controls a 24 Billion dollar budget. Under Dukakis the Budget was about 11 Billion.
The Mass. State budget has more than doubled in 12 years under the reign of 3 consecutive Republican Governors.
Massachusetts is a Communist Republic. (Hmm, is that a contradiction?)
Think about it.
From the Boston Tea Party to this. It could be a coincidence.
I do not believe in "coincidences."
Everything happens for a reason!

I noticed that about the sitcoms, too! I couldn't believe it. The networks must not have liked the results that were coming in and so it was not "newsworthy." This is the first time I remember that happening. Aren't the returns usually all that's on for hours in the evening of an election night, even mid term? I'm sure if the rats had been sweeping, they would have kept with the news. They didn't even show the Rush interview on NBC? Unbelievable!
We have cable and kept Fox News on and I was following FR most of the night, soaking it all in and enjoying all the fun as the races were called for the pubbies. I kept hoping against hope that Simon would pull it off ... Did you hear that McClintock's race is still up in the air and that they're asking for helpers to watch the absentee ballots being counted? There's a thread running on that. It sure would be wonderful if he could squeak by and win the Controller's seat. That would give us one, at least, and I really like McClintock.
I want ANWR and I want JUDGES and I want HOMELAND SECURITY! I'm not sure how I feel about the National Sales Tax idea that was floated today as being considered. I always thought that the flat tax was the way to go.

Chairman ..... Chairman ..... Chairman .... Chairman ....
Oh, you mean the other Justice Scalia .......
*grins*
Bit ~~~ to me the grandest part of this victory is what it will mean to the country for literally DECADES through the make-up of the Supreme Court. That is the most exciting thing of all, IMO. As glorious as some of those wins were yesterday, the future of the Supreme Court is what made them so special.
Praise God! He has blessed us ..... again!

Well now, that would be very cool. A Packer/Dolphins super bowl.:)
I have a very sad story related to the game...........a couple in our church choir lost their 47-year-old son to a massive coronary Monday night. He was apparently a huge Miami fan and had gone to the game with his son. On the way back home they got caught up in Packer traffic and were barely inching along.........when all of a sudden he collapsed at the wheel. His son called 911 on his cell phone but by the time the paramedics got there he was gone.
Geez, you just NEVER KNOW, do you? Here one minute, gone the next.
To: MozartLover
As in?:
The name "Mukwonago" comes from the original Indian name of "Mequanego" which means "Place of the Bear". Mequanego was once an Indian Village and tribal seat of the Bear Clan of Potowatomi Indians located along the shore of Phantom Lake. The name was changed to Mukwonago in 1844.
No, never heard of it.
