I think South Dakota is ours! Thune's lead just jumped to over 3,000. So far 767 out of 844 precincts are reporting. Looking good!

I think South Dakota is ours!

Daschle told NBC it was lost 3 hours ago.

The western part of the state is quite conservative and is in another time zone. For a democrat to win he needs to be 25,000 votes up before the western part of the state comes in.

Before the west came in the margin was 2,000 votes

There is no way Thune can lose this. Bush already called to congratulate him. There are about 6,000 votes western that have not been counted becuase the counting machine broke. They had to drive about 200 miles round trip to get another. That will add more margin.

This is a done deal.

It looks very much like MONDALE is toast. Normally Democratic precincts have been going Coleman.

Senate is going to be at least 51 Republicans and perhaps 52 or 53. We need 7 or 8 DINOs and Daschle can't stop anything.

Bush thinks on most issues he can get 8 DINOs. The Democrats are toast.

Governors went 25 - 25. Not nearly as bad as was feared.

This has NEVER BEEN DONE. Presidents have on a couple of occasions gained seats in an off year election. But never has one gained control of the senate when he did not have it already.

George BUSH is now the 13,000Lb Giant. He now has clout with a capital C.
