Arkansas Senate candidate Mark Pryor last night admitted hiring an immigrant housekeeper, and Republicans demanded he "tell the people of Arkansas" whether the woman was an illegal alien.
Already, authorities in the Orlando area are investigating tens of thousands of absentee ballots that were sent out to Hispanic voters. And this week, Gov Bush turned down a request from Broward County (Fort Lauderdale) Supervisor of Elections Miriam Oliphant to keep polls open later on Election Day.
Oliphant also asked in a letter to Secretary of State Jim Smith to allow the county to use provisional paper ballots as an emergency backup if lines grow too long.
Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe blamed the grieving family of the late Sen. Paul Wellstone on Sunday for turning last Tuesday night's memorial service for the dead senator into a campaign rally, and even suggested it was their fault that Senate Minority Leader Trent Lott was booed during the ceremony.

Acting on dozens of complaints that a vote fraud scheme using the names of Hispanics to get absentee ballots in their names without their knowledge is under way, Orange-Osceola State Attorney Lawson Lamar has sent investigators to watch as Orange County Elections Supervisor Bill Cowles started opening absentee ballot envelopes that have already arrived at his office.
