Nope. They keep us pretty busy ..... meetings from 8:00 in the morning until ......
..... and then dinners at night that kept us sometimes as late as 10:00. Some people skip convention events to go sightseeing but we figure we need to soak up all the info they can give us ...... :-)

Good Morning All!
Still cleaning up from all the excitment yesterday. Had a few aftershocks last night but nothing major.
I will be praying with you at 5:00
Here is my prediction for the election:
I predict it will take weeks to sort things out. I believe that the the most common phrases on the news will be; "Democrat lawsuit" or "Election Lawsuit"and "democratic lawyers" I think they plan to tie up this election worse than 2000. We will not know who is in control of the House and Senate until January at least. I also predict the controversy will last years. Sigh........

I have a call in to the protocol officer, but have not received a call back. You might ask Chair.

Thanks for your prayers, GC.
Ugh! I'm taking a small break from the drudgery of correcting homework. Why did I ever assign homework on the weekend, give a quiz on Monday morning and have papers due on Monday morning? Three sets of work to grade. And then, of course, there's the need to get ready for classes tomorrow. I put in way more hours than I get paid for.
Am I whining like one of those NEA teachers yet?

Regrettably I agree with you ..... *sigh*

Of course you are welcome here. I am sorry I got a bit too abrasive on that other thread (or mean, to use the vernacular). Anyway, you are quite welcome to stop here whenever you wish, as far as I am concerned.

HUMMM If that be the case then the votes are 49 Democrat... 49 Repubican and 1 Reform... HMMMM I guess V.P. Cheney will have to decide who is in control. Presuming the demoflops maintain control of the Missouri seat - far from a decided outcome - there is one problem with your math. The turncoat Jeffords votes with the demoflops and that makes their vote count, if my two remaining brain cells didn't smoke out on the calculation, 50.
So there would be 50 demoflop votes, 49 pubbie votes, and 1 guy debating with himself in the bathroom.
We'd still need a seat.

By the way, I would bet cash money that McAuliffe helped coach Mondale. Mondale was NOT the Mondale I remembered. I think he got a dose of the Terrible Terry's style.

Yeah! I hate losing friends on FR....especially since we agree on most things!

I have just begun posting but have been wanting to ask you about the zogby polls from yesterday showing a close race between Cornyn and Kirk here in Texas. I was not aware that it was that close, should we be suspious of voter fraud with those numbers.
Again ATRW thank you for letting me join you I count it an honor.

So, then, it's all agreed. Sen. Harken is a plank owner of the new Toilet Paper Party?

Good grief - LOL

I think the watch changing's a guy thing - I am compelled to change all possible time pieces while Mrs.L never does. Go figger.

I am compelled to change all possible time pieces while Mrs.L never does. Twice a year I have to change countless clocks around the cottage (it's around 10, but it seems like a bunch). Mrs. Chairman gets motivated to change 1 or 2 (usally after she has seen me scurrying here and yon). Just noticed last night a clock I had missed, in her sewing room. Still set for daylight time. My computer at home is set for UTC. That is to time stamp files off of the weather wire and avoid the "October Problem."

Yes you are right. That would make it 50 to 49. It still takes Carnahan.
But that removes the thought that Ventura would do anything to hurt the Democrats.
He ain't mad at Democrats. He is just getting publicity for his Reform Party.

I had the same smoking 'rat feeling in 2000 - but I got over it very quickly.
There is nothing that they won't attempt in their need to regain 'rat power. Sadly.

Look at the stock market today....
Up close to 200 pts all day...I heard someone on one of the CNBC business shows say the money people think the Repubs regain control of the Senate.
Market is reacting to that same feeling I have..
