In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
vituperate\vy-TOO-puh-rate\, verb:
To find fault with; to scold; to overwhelm with wordy abuse; to censure severely or abusively; to rate.
The incensed priests...
continued to raise their voices,
vituperating each other in bad Latin.
--Sir Walter Scott, Ivanhoe Etymology: Vituperate comes from Latin vitupero, vituperare, to scold, blame, censure.

The sniper reportedly heaped
vituperation on the police for hanging up on him, when he repeatedly called the sniper hotline. I would really hate to be one of the FBI employees enumerated in the sniper's diatribe as having P'd him O....

There are plenty of folks to
vituperate in this
suburban bikini bimbo battle: a butt-baring grandma with no class, and her nosey neighbors who should mind their own business, and spineless city officials who don't have the guts to tell everyone in the situation to just grow up and shut up.

oh good grief.

Guess who has a twin sister? Yup. Patti Ann in Stereo. Really? Now that should be "Breaking News"

Homework:
Carville's, like my most liberals, usual method of removing opponents from the discussion is to vituperate without anesthetics .....
Hillary, on the other hand, simply refuses to go to places where she will possibly have opponent's present.

Oh, right, time difference....
Decaff just doesn't do the job. I can't quite get with it.
I hope they catch the sniper soon - that's got to be wearing on your nerves.

decaf??? surely you are joking? when people in line ahead of me ask for decaf, i always request that their caffeine be ADDED to my coffee ; )
yes, the sniper biz is wearing. i am not actively worrying about it, but it is in the background all the time and one keeps listening to hear if anyone has been shot today. not a good feeling.

I love caffiene. I lived for caffiene. I
miss my caffiene. You may have it for me. Please enjoy it extra.
I was just diagnosed with this heart thing - I'm ok - but caffeine is a no-no... I quit it in July, and I just can't wake up - since July. I feel better, but I'm not functioning on all 8 cylinders... maybe 3.
I remember when we had the riots here - everyone stayed in, and we were all pretty jumpy. The national guard on the roof of the mall was just weird .

oh no! i am sorry you had caffeine taken away from you. i imagine that waking up would be difficult. i know i have a headache if i don't have enough coffee, let alone zero caffeine. poor you!
i had a physical a few weeks back and i was concerned that they would find my BP up and say no more coffee. BP was fine, no one mentioned coffee. i am relieved.

Gary Condit, (remember him?) in his ongoing battle to wrest the Sleaziest Man In the World title from Bill Clinton, has suborned his dimwit kids to issue a vituperative letter aimed at the man who beat him in the Democratic primary.
I think I've made this point before, but I'll do it again: When a--how shall I say?--certain cloud of suspicion hangs over you regarding the unsolved murder of your girlfriend, is it wise to demonstrate to the world that you are one nasty, vengeful, ruthless, unprincipled SOB?
Just wondering.
