In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
qua \KWAY; KWAH\, preposition:
1. In the capacity or character of; as.
2. In so far as
This might be thought a decisive objection to a federal judge's writing about this subject even if the judge writes qua academic rather than qua judge.
--Richard A. Posner, An Affair of State

You've got a very nice e-mail provider! LOL! That I do.
You know what since I was off today, I've been thinking that this is Friday not Thursday, all day
To: dubyaismypresident; Cyber Liberty
I never know what day it is. I have to look at the newspaper daily to find out of it's Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Really. I always know Saturday and Sunday because Cyber is off!
I thought we were still in September last week. Sheesh. That's what happens when you don't work outside the home.

kolaches? is this something we discussed with ole HD last year, some Polish type pastry? sounds familiar but i haven't ever had it. "Ole HD." Sigh. I guess it's better than "The late" as an adjective.
Actually it's "kolachki," but no sweat - hell I had to look it up myself. Even in my Pollack neighborhood, it gets hard to find good ones, although I am pretty anti-kolachki biased. They are just too dry for my tastes, and often poppy seed or walnut filled. Too much dough, and not good donoughnut-ty dough either. But not dry and flaky like a tasty croissant - just a crappy in-between type of dough.
However - they are often covered with powdered sugar. So it is not uncommon for one partaking in kolachki to get dusted with the old sugar mustache. Which makes me think: what the hell did TxBec look like (and more importantly, what had she been doing?) when she walked in that she thought "eating kolachki" was a valid excuse????

I was going to make the same comment on "family justice with bats", but someone beat me to it.
I seriously hope that jerk's wife has a gun.
To: TheGrimReaper
Damn man. That pic is bad enough almost to turn me gay. ALMOST.
To: dubyaismypresident
Not even the Lions are that bad.

I am having a drink tonight. See, I messed up and forgot rule number 1 in the workplace: Do NOT be too efficient, because you will only get all the work of the slackers dumped in your lap.
To: Bella_Bru
You should know better. I have a full plate at work tomorrow too. UGGGG.
To: Dan from Michigan
Mercy Dan, don't do anything drastic! LOL

Anyone married to him probably doesn't have the self esteem to realize she doesn't have to stay with someone who knocks her around. She probably think the 2 Amendment applies to men only. I speak from experience. I was dumb enough to stay with an abuser for 4.5 years.
To: RikaStrom
It wouldn't bug me so much, but I am expected to complete their work and mine by the end of the day. I almost brought some home with me, but then I decided that I was not a slave.
