AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 635) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | October 17, 2002 | All of Us

We will not live in fear! [President Bush]

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

North Korea admits to a secret nuclear weapons program, according to a senior Administration official.

The source said [Assistant Secretary of State] Kelly [while visiting the reclusive Communist Nation on security talks] also raised with North Korea evidence that North Korea may have a uranimum-enrichment program. The program, which the United States believes would only be used to develop a nuclear bomb, began under the Clinton administration, according to the official.

Surprisingly, North Korea confirmed the allegation. FULL STORY HERE.

The ACLU has announced they are looking into whether the Defense Department violated the Posse Comitatus Act by supplying assistance to local police departments in the Washington area looking for the sniper.

Washington area police offered these tips to improve people's safety:

Click here to obtain information being offered by Washington-area police departments on how to help protect yourself from the sniper.

And BS refers to Saddam Hussein as an Iranian dictator in a Truth Alert

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I posted this article yesterday from US News. It has a huge gag alert attached to it. US News wanted readers comments about x42 and the Hildabeast. Many people are still enraptured with them.

It is an absolute tragedy what is happening in North Korea. People are starving to death, they are literally eating blades of grass to survive. And that madmen dictator of theirs has chefs from all over the world to cater to his every whim. And he spends all that money on nuclear weapons. Unfortunately, even if we send food aid or money to North Korea to feed their people, the money ends up in the wrong pockets. Tis a mess.

No, not if you don't want to. But it made me remember how many people still blindly adore that horrible couple. Just a little reminder. :)

Good news on France. I've heard that France and Germany have given much money and aid to Iraq's nuclear program, and that is a lot of the reason why they are making so much noise about the UN resolution and Iraq.

Clinton made a deal (Thank you Bill!!)....and we kept our end ...

North Korea saw UOx42 for what he was, a weak President with an even weaker foreign policy (could it have been he was being blackmailed by North Korean agents?).

Like North Vietnam with the Treaty of Paris in 1973, the North Koreans saw their "deal" with the slime bucket as an expedient. Also like the North Vietnamese before them, the North Koreans had every intention of not fulfilling the terms of the agreement they had just concluded, because it was not in their interests to do so.

Like North Vietnam, North Korea dreams of a united Korean peninsula, and like North Vietnam, North Korea believes that union should take place under their auspices. They have never denied that.

Yet(!!), the American President agreed to give North Korea exactly what it needed to fulfill its desires - the ability to construct a nuclear device by providing light water reactors, WHILE THEY WERE STILL OFFICIALLY AT WAR WITH SOUTH KOREA (AN ALLY OF THE UNITED STATES[!!!!]).

I believe the leadership in Pyongyang actually believed Algore would win the election. That would have given them enough time to complete an atomic bomb. The election of 2000 threw their plans in a tizzy. But the pieces needed for building a nuclear device were on their way.

The saving grace - right now - in all of this is the light-water reactors haven't been built. I don't know whether all of the materials are in country at this point, but if they are not their shipment needs to stop (it should have stopped anyway). If all of the materials are in country, means should be taken to ensure they are never assembled.

Pyongyang is believing this President can be leveraged like the last one to take a fools deal. I don't think it's going to work.

That's an excellent summary of the whole sorry business.

I remember at the time the deal was made with the N. Koreans that it was nasty, and would likely be catastrophic.

What had they ever done to earn such trust?????

Whether they have ALL the devices and means, or not, WE SHOULD ASSUME THEY DO AND ACT ACCORDINGLY.

The fellow on Hume's show was advocating the Containment policy as workable, which is different from Iraq.

We MUST have an administration which takes national security seriously, is able to judge intelligently the various threats and take the appropriate measures.

WHAT IS SO DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT THIS???

Of course, my question isn't directed to anyone of this thread...we all understand...

Something that is being overlooked here is they admit it out of the blue....why today ...?

I smell an Axis of Evil hand in this admission. We are about to launch a major war on Iraq.....and NK tells us .....we got nukes now what are you going to do about it.

Someone is trying to change the subject again....

Quick story (I promise). I had a student in China who was nearly blind. Many of his classmates were asking for Bibles so I thought I'd try to find a Braille Bible in Hong Kong. Do you know how big they are? Just a New Testament would have been bigger than any coffee table book you've seen.

We've been in the market for a used car so I can give my parents' car back to them. I spotted one today that might be a good deal. Doesn't look like much as it's got big dents on both front doors and what looks like some white paint on the driver's door (it's a black car). It's also missing the driver's window and has a few other dings and such.

But it's a '97 Honda Civic with 47,000 miles and is being offered for $3900. I think I can maybe get them down to $3500 and a friend of my nephew's can probably do the body work for a good price. Replacing the window will cost around $200 or maybe less. It's got 5 belts so we could use it do drive short distances with our 3 girls, but mostly it's something I can use on my commute and get much better mileage than the Cutlass Ciera.

So....tomorrow I may go and buy a car.

Yes, North Korea is different that Iraq. Whether containment will work is a question worth considering.

But that wasn't where I really wanted to go with this, based on your point above. The leftstream media will not care to see a difference - in fact Peter Lemmings is already foaming at the mouth because the Administration is not making bellicose ruminations about North Korea's actions. This is being done to drive a wedge with the American people by suggesting that if we are not willing to go to war NOW with Pyongyang, then we should not want to go to war NOW with Baghdad.

What the leftstream media once again is doing is believing that if it doesn't come from their mouths, the American people are too stupid to understand. By extension - they believe that if they utter something, the American people being stupid will believe what they say.

They are hoping for this because nothing else they have done in the last 13 months has worked one iota to lower the standing of President Bush.

Unfortunately from their perspective, the American people are smarter than they think; this won't work either.

I have this mental image of us ....launching on Iraq and we see NK launch a border incursion....to draw us away from what needs to be done in Iraq..

Actually, they have a nuclear weapons development program. I don't think they've made a bomb, though State concedes they have enough fissile material to make two.
