We will not live in fear! [President Bush]

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

North Korea admits to a secret nuclear weapons program, according to a senior Administration official.

The source said [Assistant Secretary of State] Kelly [while visiting the reclusive Communist Nation on security talks] also raised with North Korea evidence that North Korea may have a uranimum-enrichment program. The program, which the United States believes would only be used to develop a nuclear bomb, began under the Clinton administration, according to the official.

Surprisingly, North Korea confirmed the allegation. FULL STORY HERE.

The ACLU has announced they are looking into whether the Defense Department violated the Posse Comitatus Act by supplying assistance to local police departments in the Washington area looking for the sniper.

Washington area police offered these tips to improve people's safety:

Click here to obtain information being offered by Washington-area police departments on how to help protect yourself from the sniper.

And BS refers to Saddam Hussein as an Iranian dictator in a Truth Alert

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Don't let your kids get sunburned - at least not in Steubenville, OH.

Prosecutors have dropped their case against a woman who spent eight days in jail on charges she allowed her children to become severely sunburned. Eve Hibbits, 31, of Brilliant, had faced a misdemeanor charge of child endangerment, but it was dismissed Wednesday by Jefferson County Prosecutor Bryan Felmet.

Charges dropped against mother whose kids got sunburned

Tonight, I have decided, I will be telling the kids that there will not be Halloween trick-or-treat as long as this nutcase is about.

I will think up some alternative.

That mother spent eight days in jail because her kids got sunburned? Oh my, talk about no common sense on the part of the prosecutor, and the police.

Your church or school should be considering Halloween alternatives for the kiddos - some sort of in-house funcion.

I had the oddest dream last night. I was playing the piano in Relief Society, looked down and realized I had my flannel nightgown on. Rather than make a fuss, I rationalized that the women wouldn't care if I was playing in my nightgown, and I would stay until the meeting was over. Then they asked me to accompany a soloist in the main church services, and I panicked because I didn't have time to go home and change from my nightgown into a dress. And the next thing I knew, I was playing in front of the church congregation in my nightgown. Very weird dream...

For me, it's laugh to keep from crying at the entire situation which on the surface is reaching farcical status.

Church I would consider - schools have already been targeted, so I won't accept going there.

I'm sure you won't be the only one.

I thought of that last night; what if this maniac is still out there???

I can't even imagine the pressure you good folks must be under, and the decisions that must be made. I gotta tell you, every time I gas up the car, I get a creepy feeling.............and I live way up here in Wisconsin!

Hmmmmmmm............I've had similar dreams. Must be a reflection of stress, or of feeling "unprepared", or something.

One time I was in my underwear.:)

What we do in our neighborhood is have a trick or trunk party. All the kids from little to age 12 come to the church parking lot, there are rows of cars, and the kids go trick or treating from trunk to trunk. It is really turning out to be the social event of the year for our ward. I go with a couple of friends, we all buy candy, and take one car, and chairs to sit on. And the adults visit, the teenagers hand out the candy, and the kids have a blast. I think this year sloppy joes are being provided for supper. Just an idea.

Re: trick or treating in the church parking lot. I live in a relatively safe area, so the kids get to go trick or treating twice, because they all go out on Halloween night also.

And the women (naturally), well, we're trying to outdo each other in decorating the trunks of the cars.

Re: trick or treating in the church parking lot.

I will not abide by anything in a parking lot - even a church parking lot. Our church is rather near the Beltway, and interstate highways seem to be a bullet magnet right now.

Indoors, sure - but nothing has been planned yet.

A Delta flight has landed at Logan after a passenger reported hearing a beeping sound coming from an overhead storage bin. All the passengers were evacuated safely. Emergency personnel checked the overhead bin, and removed a pair of sneakers which investigators are now examining

True, I hadn't thought of that. We used to hold the party in the church building, but it was getting out of control with kids running up and down the halls of the church. Good luck with your kids and finding a safe alternative for them this year.

Since that resulted in an individual being exiled to Florida shortly thereafter, this year they could report 100.00%.

If Saddam had hired some Democrats, especially from certain precincts in Philadelphia, I think he could have done better than 100%.

Around here the malls all have trick-or-treating, as well as some of the nursing homes, for those who choose not to be outdoors. The people in the nursing homes love to see the kids in their costumes, and the kids get their treats, so everyone is happy.:)

I think that is my favorite part of Halloween is seeing all the little kids in their Halloween costumes. And how big their eyes get when I give them two pieces of candy or let them choose.
