We will not live in fear!
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
The elections in Iraq are over, and with 100% of the precincts counted, Saddam has won another term as President with 100% of the vote. Not even the former Soviet Union could boast that performance.
United Airlines is in serious financial trouble, and appears headed for bankruptcy.
And, in the UK, there has been a sharp rise in support for a war against Iraq after the attacks on Bali.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
Two things I thought valuable:
When hearing a gunshot, look first in the direction of the shot.
When looking at a suspect, look at those things which cannot be easily changed (complexion, nose shape, height and weight). Clothes, hair, and musaches can be changed.
I thought that was a good idea. Lots of people don't know what to look at when seeing a criminal suspect.
What's the harm in that? We need folks watching carefully.
Your very good at this stuff...and I will now go sit in the corner..
I've been worrying about this! If they tighten the net with military surveillance, satellites, etc., it would be so easy to pick up and go somewhere else. Even if funds are short, striking in another area for just two days would throw everyone into a panic.
It's so hard to keep up with all the reading these days....whole lotta brainstormin' going on!
Hmmmmm .... wonder if they suspect the shooter has actually been in the crowd.
This was announced one hour before the conference started ... far enough in advance to get the word out.
All of these gatherings have been taped ... I wonder if they will notice a conspicuous absence ... one who bears a striking resemblance to the composite they don't have ....
Miss Marple ... OUCH!
Only here for a sec ... daughter coming over to write a paper. The Anthropology of War ... HAR!
*hugs*
Spaghetti
2 quarts tomato juice
1 quart whole or halved tomatoes
3 peeled garlic cloves
3 dried red chiles
1 tbsp parsley flakes
1 heaping tsp chile powder (up to 1 tbsp to taste)
1-3 bay leaves
3 pounds pork roast or pork chops, cooked, cubed, salted and peppered
While meat is browning, add all ingredients to a big pan. Bring to a boil, add the cooked meat, and then turn down the heat to simmer for at least three hours. Serve over pasta of choice.
My notes: I've used hamburger, chicken, and cubed beef with this recipe. When I cook the meat, I will also season it with about 1/2 tsp of dried red chili flakes. I prefer to serve this over fettucini, but I've used it as the sauce in lasagna, and over ravioli. My aunt will take a cube of butter and some parmasan cheese, put the butter over the pasta, and sprinkle with the cheese, then pour the sauce over, and let it sit for 20 minutes before serving. That is a good way to serve it. :)
A couple more notes. Pull the bay leaves and chili peppers out before serving. I also use 3 quarts of tomatoes, I'll put two quarts in the pan and use my stick blender to break up most of the tomatoes, then I'll add the third quart. This makes for a thicker sauce.
The cops tell the media on national TV at some point during every news briefing that they will not be permitted to talk to any witnesses. Moose plays the "We want to protect the witnesses so they will talk to us." bull crap right after he denies permission. He looks away when he says it. I think fibbing bothers the Moose. Havn't you heard permission or even information as to who the witnesses are, denied to the press over and over? The media asks at every opportunity in all three jourisdictions.
In a serial situation this is just S.O.P.
What that means is a witness who talks to the media who has been ordered not to do so, will get out of solitary when the case is over and done with and the judge is back from his long deserved vacation and accidentally remembers the big mouth in still in solitary on bread and water. Bet you rumplestiltskin the credible witnesses are not talking to the media.
Look at all the media shots on TV. They were long shots taken from off the actual site with a zoom lens or from a chopper. They were shots taken off the actual site because the cops were there first. They would not let the media on the site to take pictures or talk to the people on the site until after the cops were done with them.
That leaves the media with non credible witnesses to talk to. That is who they talk to. Take what they say with a grain of salt.
kayak ... I keep thinking about your daughter and grandkiddos being at that gas station ... how's she doing?!
By the way, I do remember about the assassination of Moussad, and you are wuite right.
By the way, that Islamic "witness" has been on Fox a couple of times. I do not find him credible, and especially his constant grin is annoying. Has he been on other channels, like MSNBC?
That recipe sounds wonderful ... plus ~~~ I still have tomatoes coming in ... even with a light frost the other night!
Authorities believe it was not random; not a sniper type thing.
