One witness reported seeing a white male on Friday, but many others said they saw an olive-skinned man, definitely of the "Hispanic or Mid-Eastern type," but not African-American.Between the Friday and Monday killings, there were so many variations of what people think they saw that officials were having a difficult time coming up with a solid composite sketch of a suspect.
Eyewitnesses testified that on Friday:
-- one individual thinks he/she saw one white male
-- one individual thinks he/she saw two olive-skinned males
-- two individuals think they saw one olive-skinned male
Eyewitnesses testified that on Monday night:
-- two individuals think they saw an olive-skinned male
If they had a positive ID then I would agree with you, Doggie ...... but these descriptions vary so widely they could apply to a large percentage of the male population. Just read the threads here on FR ....... many people are just itching to shoot the perp(s). We do not need the additional tragedy of innocent people being shot because they sort of look like they might perhaps fit a nebulous composite on which even the witnesses cannot agree.

But we seem to have a nexus on "olive-skinned". Even the "white male" ID could correlate - many olive-skinned people belong to the caucasian race, so the individual may have said "white," particularly considering the culture in America anymore on race identification.
I would start asking witnesses if they would take a polygraph. That would weed out a few, IMHO.
Prior to the operation, apartments should be prepared to hide the brothers participating in it. These apartments should not be known except to the commander and his soldiers.

I hear what you are saying, but this also must be considered in the context of a growing body of evidence that is pointing to a conspiracy. That, and the fact the target location is Washington.
You may well be right, but this smells like a terrorist operation.
I just don't want to see natives of India or Greece or Italy ..... or America ..... killed by an angered populace simply because they are "olive-skinned" and sort of look like a very generic-looking composite. And as high as emotions are, that could happen. There are people who would shoot first and ask questions later. And we would have another tragic death on our hands ...... another victim of the War on Terror.
And neither do I, that would be tragic.
Where I was going with what I am saying is the description increases the probability that someone of mid-east descent is likely involved.

The eyewitnesses have seen vans and people in them. They have not seen anyone shoot.
I would bet you not a single eyewitness that the media knows about has seen any one shoot off anthing but their mouth.
Picture this
A terrorist drives into a parking lot. Gets out a weapon but keeps it out of sight. Looks around until the coast is clear. Finally no one is looking at him or parking, leaving, or walking near enough to identify him as the source of the shot. When all this is true and there is a subject to shoot, the terrorist shoots just one shot. Before the sound of the bullet is heard the weapon is out of sight. And since he only fires once, there is little chance anyone will see him shoot.
An observer hears the round perhaps as long as 3/4 of second after the hit. (Sound travels at 750 feet per second) The observer first looks to see if some one is hit. That takes a half to a full second. The witness sees a person is hit and turns to look for someone with a weapon. It is now 1 to 2 seconds since the shot was fired. The witness sees a white van starting up and taking off. He sees no gun all he sees is a white van. Reports sighting to the cops.
And despite what people say it takes a hell of a shot to hit from this distance under this much pressure. Kicking a field goal is easy. Kicking one in the super bowl is not.
I don't think the eyewitnesses that have talked to the media are credible. Moose has said on several occasions that the cops were "protecting" witnesses from the media and not revealing who they were. Do you know what that means ... What it means to protect the witnesses in cop terms:? Well that is what Moose said. And what that means in police talk is when the cops get a credible witness they get a court order forbiding the witness from talking to the media. It is as easy as saying Judge this is the sniper case, we need a restraining order to prevent witnesses from talking to the media an informing the suspect of what we know.
Cops don't lie. They just say it so the average bear does not figure it out. Betcha....there is a restraining order on all credible witnesses.
When a witness talks to the media that means the cops don't care and it is at best disinformation.

OTOH, we know that not all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslims. Also, not all Arabs are terorrists, but a disproportionately high number of terrorists seem to be, in fact, Arab.
True - and I guess I am now suggesting the description is coming more in line with "expectations."
