In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

I take it you are referring to calf's liver and not chicken livers. I prefer it sauted in butter myself. My only suggestion is to get a good vent fan or cassarole it in the oven. The following is off the top of my head.

Wrap the liver in thick bacon and barely cover with a mixture of stock and red wine. Add a peeled carrot cut in large pieces, a stalk of celery (cut), a bay leaf, some kosher salt, and fresh course ground black pepper.

Cook it covered in a 350 oven for about two hours. Test after 90 minutes for doneness. DO NOT OVER COOK.

Set the liver aside and keep warm. Strain the liquid into a heavy sauce pan and reduce on high heat. Discard the bacon and veg. Mix 2T of soffened butter with 2T of flour. This is your roux. When the liquid is reduced by about half, put the roux in a seperate sauce pan and brown over medium heat until it is a light tan colour. Add the reduced liquid a little at a time, whisking briskly until the liquid is used up or you reach the consistancy of sauce you like. Add a little more wine or stock if necessary.

Serve with crumbled crisp bacon and your favorite side dishes. Hope this helps.

I think this story has been enlarged or blown out of proportion........ perhaps with some hands on research, I might be willing to take this, as fact............ lol

Until then, I'll just relax hobbes.........

Perhaps if we ignore it, it'll just peter out.

'Elvis has left the building' coiner dies at 86

Excerpt:

When Presley debuted in 1954, Logan wrote in his 1998 memoir, "Elvis, Hank and Me," he wanted to say something reassuring to the nervous young man, but didn't have time. Instead, he grabbed the microphone.

"Ladies and gentlemen, you've never heard of this young man before, but one day you'll be able to tell your children and grandchildren you heard musical history made tonight," he told the audience.

Two years later, trying to quiet a frenzied audience after another Presley performance, Logan announced, "Elvis has left the building."

Rest in Peace, Horace Lee Logan
