"Obviously the wit of this remark went over your head, I'll try to gear my comments to a more sophomoric level for the cases where it's necessary."

Hold the phones. I just found some interesting information in a Salt Lake Tribune article. Bad reporting? It says that Richard and Angela Ricci were married in February, 2000, not February 2001 Excellent catch, UT!!! Keep up the great work.
To: Jolly Green
Well, except the SL Tribune was wrong, as usual. Every other article that I've read says they were married in February, 2002. So anyway...

Neenah is NOT trashing the parents. She is posing the same thoughtful questions that many of us wonder about. She sure as hell is!!! Only those of you from the Logic-Free Zone have seen fit to trash the Smarts in this case - all without a shred of evidence to support your point of view. Your lies and innuendo are getting tiresome.
To: freedox
Do you have a source for those two facts, GS? I don't remember ever hearing or reading that, and I'd like to see exactly what the instructions/circumstances were. Thanks. There were three FBI agents living in the Smart home for about a week following the abduction.
To: varina davis
Any normal parents would disregard such advice and advise LE that they are the parents and want to learn all information possible that could lead to the return of their daughter. As if you were an expert on "normal parents", LOL.
To: Sherlock
What do you think, logically, varina? Sorry, Sherlock. I've got to question your sanity for asking varina to think logically.
To: Utah Girl
You have proof that Cynthia Collier is a friend or family of the Smarts?I was using "friend of the family" in the broad sense, not actual or literal.
To: Jolly Green
There were three FBI agents living in the Smart home for about a week following the abduction.Undoubtedly you have a source to back up that statement -- since you are so careful to only post "facts."
To: varina davis
Oh, so those of us who have sympathies towards the family are now friends of the family, even if we don't know them or have never met them. OK.
To: Utah Girl
My goodness! Utah Girl. SORRY!
To: varina davis
What are you sorry for? I was just trying to get clarification, and received it. Thank you. :)

Tom was home in bed with his wife. Were you there with them? How else would you know for sure?
Were you there in bed with the Riccis? How can you be so sure THEY were home in bed together?
To: freedox
Unfortunately, I just don't have time to track down the articles which discussed this, but I know multiple sources said FBI agents were living in the Smart home. And we have to remember that with the large crew of local and federal law enforcement on the case, basic standards of investigation were undoubtedly being met. One of those standards is to put the family under the umbrella of suspicion in a case like this, and another is to make sure that key witnesses are not tainted, coached, or "disappeared". I'm quite sure that LE didn't let little MK out of their sight or hearing for some time following the abduction -- at least until the child forensic psychologist(s) said they didn't expect to be able to get any further information from her.

In my opinion, their having kept Burke away from being questioned for so long is one big reason one or both of the Ramseys hasn't been indicted. Ramsey question for you: I saw crime scene and/or autopsy photos of Jon Benet. The knots used to subdue/strangle her were tied by someone I would consider a knot expert. For that reason I have strong doubts that any of the Ramsey's were involved UNLESS one or the other parents had been a scoutmaster OR Burke had his knot tying merit badge. What's your take?

Also don't worry about linking your news reports SOME people on here should know where the articles are coming from since it names the source in the reports. It amazes me that some people who have been following this case and posting on this thread almost since the beginning still do not recognize the Deseret News fonts... Please, please.... some of us want to read the original article from the original source. (Not that any of the dear FReepers on these threads would even consider such a thing, but in the early days of FR there were some classic doctored articles posted.)

You use an awful lot of 'I think' and 'sounds like,' which pretty much makes your posts less than credible. I think people who are not afraid to say "I think" or "maybe" or "sounds like" or "apparently" are far more credible than people who shove their opinions down the throats of others, as though their opinions were facts--which they are NOT. People who are an authority on everything have little credibility. People who use "I think" instead of stating their opinions as though they were facts also protect themselves far better from DEFAMATION LAWSUITS. Think someone can't get the location and identifying info on an internet poster by subpoena? Think again. Were you and Freedox with Richard Ricci every moment of his parole, is that how you and Freedox know for sure that "the short answer is no," that he didn't use drugs? That is a bet I would take: Ricci used drugs while out on parole. (Oh, gee, whaddya know--can't get sued for "defaming" a dead person.)
To: jandji
and if ricci was the perp, he knew mk saw him, and would have at least shaved. The perp nudged MK to see if she was asleep and left assuming she hadn't seen him.
To: Jolly Green
They don't doctor the articles here, they only post articles from the first few weeks of the case and then only if there is a segment in the articles casting shadow on the Smart family.

...possessing alcohol and failing to complete a treatment program. The 6', 160 pound Ricci has had trouble with drug abuse, according to prison records. Context. Look at the context of the statement. The part about his trouble with drug abuse seems to be there as an explanation of the mention of a treatment program.
He used drugs while out on parole. Hell, he used drugs in prison! Look it up, his revolving-door release was delayed one time b/c of that.
As for his sterling employment record with Mr. Mitchell, he had worked for the nursery for a grand total of what? How much time is it from May (I think it was May 15?) to June 14? A whole month? Even most losers I've seen in criminal court can hold on to a job that long. Mr. Mitchell is clearly a compassionate soul who truly believes that a guy can be completely rehabilitated after numerous go-rounds in jail. Bless Mr. Mitchell's kind heart for this, we are lucky to have such goodhearted people.
If you believe Ricci didn't use drugs while out on parole, you would probably hire Madelyne Toogood as a nanny, or hire her husband, Mr. Nobody-Knows-His-Name to do the roof.
