As a Supes fan...I'm hitting the panic button! This sounds awful...Jimmy Olsen gay? Luthor a Kryptonian? Gimmie a break!

I've been a Superman fan (not to mention Bats, Spidey, Flash, FF & everything else in the comic pantheon for that matter) for a long time. When Christopher Reeve donned the big red "S" in "Superman", I thought the ads were right: "You'll believe a man can fly."
I loved the John Byrne reboot of the franchise after 1985's landmark "Crisis" saga. I understood the reasons, the rationale, the logic behind it. Not only that, but Byrne's Superman rocked. It didn't violate the original continuity.
The biggest change it introduced was that Lex Luthor was reborn as Donald Trump. Not only that, but the interaction among the characters was much more realistic over the ensuing years.
I had patience when Clark & Lois got married. I had patience during the Doomsday/"Death of Superman" saga. I even had some patience during the "Electric Superman Red/Blue" stories.
But whatever moron came up with this bilgewater needs to have his head examined. If they film this monstrosity, it'll end up being the biggest dud in history. Passing "Ishtar." Passing "The Postman." Passing "Waterworld." Passing "Glitter."
I'm warning you, DC Comics...don't let 'em do it. Don't let 'em destroy the legend...

In Metropolis, Lois is getting bitched out by her editor, Perry White, for her techniques even as Jimmy Olsen gives Clark Kent a tour of the place. Its Clarks first day. And now hes the age he was in the opening. Jimmys a little younger, and is described as Brooklyn-born and somewhat effeminate. Perry White makes jokes about Jimmys boyfriend later in the scene. Its one of those bizarre choices that you hope youre misreading. Its suggested more than anything, but it is suggested. It certainly could be read that way. Did they just arbitrarily decide to suggest that Jimmys gay?Jimmy's boyfriend?!?!?!? Jimmy Olson's boyfriend?!?!? This phrase should even exist. That's like saying the water is dry. Or the sun is quite blue today. I hate these idiots.

This project is being SAVAGED (to put it mildly) on every fan forum imaginable. I can't repeat the language without being banned for a LONG time. Great comment from one fan: "If Krypton NEVER explodes, where the H*ll does the Kryptonite come from?" ROTFLOL! Spider-Man stuck to the source material, and made $425 MILLION! If WB puts this on film, sell your stock while you have the chance...proposed 'Superman' being referred to as the next 'Battlefield Earth'.

EARTH TO HOLLYWOOD:
Post 9/11 we want family movies and heroes who kick a$$ without angst.
I saw Superman with Reeve over twenty times (I'd leave my residency 36 hour shift and watch the second half at the local theatre, being too tired to date anything mortal at the time and found Krypton and Brandon too boring to sit through more than a few times.)
I loved Lois and Clark on TV. And despite extremely poor reception I try to catch Smallville occasionally.
No way will I go to a Superman turkey fest, however. Eat your new movie.

Ugh sounds right. They will probably lose money on this liberal 're-telling.' I haven't read comics in years, but I have liked some of the recent movies (X-Men, Spawn) and I hear Spider Man was good.
I have heard they are coming out w/ an Iron Man movie. That should be great. Anti-communist, wealthy capitalist hero w/ cool toys and enjoys three martini lunches and hot babes. Ha ha ha. They can update the story by having him experience his heart attack while field testing DoD equipment in Iraq, ha ha ha.
In other geek comic/sci-fi/fantasy news, Scifi.com announced in their preview of the upcoming season that they are producing miniseries based on LeGuinn's "Earthsea" stories and Zelazny's "Amber" series. If they just follow the stories they should be good.

I like the overall "New" story...I don't have a problem with any of it...
The only problems I have are the GOOFY parts...Superman coming back to life and Lex Luthor being a Superman himself. I'm quite sure they'll fix those two parts...They're both too GOOFY to NOT fix!
Back to the "New Story", or changing how things happened before...I don't have a problem with it...Kind of like Planet of the Apes...They changed a lot of that and it was still great. IMO.

Wow!! There are going to be some SUPER Special Effects here!!! More FX!!! This is the way to Go!!!!
On thing i really liked about Lois & Clark was that they made Clark the suave confident one, and supes the one who was slightly unsure about himself.
As Clark explained it to Lois after (he said: Superman can't to that. - she said: What do you mean Clark, you are Superman)
"No Lois, Superman is just what I do. Clark is who I am."
He's been Clark all his life. Superman is the disguise. And it's his humanity that makes him a hero, not the sub-adolescent power fantasy of this script.

BTW, I think this whole story line sucks.
I read the script for Superman Lives with Doomsday back whenever and I had problems with that too, but in hindsight, that was like Shakespeare compared to this.
