Hello there. I am not much of a televison person,,, I stay on Fox News day & night unless someone come in and steals the remote control. I probably won't have much to contribute on this topic.

I'm off to a couple of community craft shows.

I nearly died the first time I heard the "Nurse or Purse" line. So funny. The gal who told me is about 60. She is divorced and lonely. When I encouraged her to get out there and mix it up with the opposite sex, I got the Nurse or Purse reply. I think she is primarily interested in protecting her generous divorce settlement.

I would be too. Or I'd make him sign a pre-nup agreement.
Yep it works both ways, gentlemen.

I don't know many of these shows but I do have one prediction. Both or all of the categories that have West Wing nominee will win.
Liberals just love to stroke each other.

This awful witch is on msnbc right now talking about how President Bush only wants to go to war with Iraq because of oil and domination of the world.

Oops, now she's gone thankfully! She's connected with the Green Party, no wonder.

Good morning, thanks for putting all that work into the thread! I'm not much of a TV viewer either, mostly sports, Law and Order and Seinfeld reruns for me. But while we wait for the Emmys, let's see what the human STD is up to:

WASHINGTON (AP) - Former President Clinton will visit Africa next week to promote efforts to curtail the AIDS epidemic and encourage economic development.

Clinton leaves Sunday and will visit Ghana, Nigeria, Rwanda, Mozambique and South Africa, his office said Friday. He returns Sept. 29 to the United States. [No rush, Bill, stay as long as you like] During his trip, Clinton will meet with Presidents John Kufuor of Ghana, Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria, Paul Kagame of Rwanda and Joaquim Chissano of Mozambique. He also will endorse establishment of a legal property system that can create capital for the poor [we've always called that 'capitalism,' but I doubt that's what he's endorsing], tour AIDS prevention programs for youth and deliver a speech on the future of Africa.

Clinton also will pay a private visit to former South African President Nelson Mandela at Mandela's provincial home. The two former presidents serve as co-chairmen of the International AIDS Trust. In 1998, Clinton became the first U.S. president to tour Africa while in office. He visited the continent again in August 2000 and returned a third time in April 2001, after he left the White House.

"So, this is Harlem," Clinton was overheard saying, before an aide shushed him and reminded him that he had an office in the area. "I do? Why?" Clinton asked, as he was hurried into a waiting limousine.

So you think you've got a tough job?

Odor Tester
Betty Lyons spends her days at Hilltop Labs in Cincinnati sniffing the sort of stuff that most people try to avoid: from feet to armpits (pictured here) to cat litter and diapers. She began her career 35 years ago as a test subject, then trained for almost a year to become a judge; she is still tested monthly to ensure her sense of smell is up to par.

Crack Filler
Think of it as Botox for the granite-faced. When cracks develop on the 60-foot-high faces that grace Mount Rushmore, Jeff Glanzer is there to fill them up with silicone sealant before they can develop into more serious splits. That's one reason why the faces of our forefathers have held up so well since they were sculpted from the stone more than 60 years ago.

Lots more fun jobs here.

Yummy!

With lightning speed the FEC fines the DNC for fundraising scandals involving contributions from China, Korea and other foreign sources. From 1996!

The DNC was fined $115,000, the Clinton-Gore campaign $2,000, and the Buddhist Progress Society $120,000. In the conciliation signed by DNC lawyer Joseph Sandler, the party agreed to pay the fine and to “disgorge [another] $128,000” to the U.S. Treasury, representing illegal contributions that were not returned to donors.

Click the link for the story.

I always miss that show, forgetting that it's on, but I do like Ray. He's a funny guy and a very nice one too.

Saw him at one of those Washington Correspondence dinners. He was great, but the audience didn't think so. Most of the jokes were about what he usually does, his family and children.

The hard hearted crowd could hardly stay awake. Jerks.

Dittoes on thanking you for all the work that went into today's splash - thanks a bunch.

That DNC article makes me want to disgorge - SIX freaking years after the fact. Is it any wonder that we can love our country and hate our governments?

Lying, cheating, thieving rat bastards.

My gosh!! You have been busy. This is a great thread and it gets our juices ready for tomorrow night.

I am going to be out tonight, so Betty is going to start the Miss America thread. I will try to get back in time for the show, because what would Miss America be without ME! ( you know I am kidding).

I am off to fix my muffler, because I have such a glamourous life.

I hope 'Everyone Loves Raymond' wins also. I remember when he spoke at the WH Correspondent's dinner, most of the people sniffed that he was too family oriented (his humor was too clean.)
