We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail [President Bush]

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Chancellor Schroder apologized to the US for the Hitler comparison. No word as to whether the German minister who made the remarks lost her job.

Tornadoes raked across Indiana yesterday afternoon as part of a severe weather front moving eastward.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Good evening! I trust you are feeling good. You wouldn't want to disobey an order would you. ;^)

Yes, actually the surf is up in the Gulf. The First lady and I were going to go to the beach, but we found out about a pinic in Tampa that Jeb is holding. So I think we will do some pig pick'n.

I just checked my e-mail and got a very pleasant surprise (even shock). One of my students from the 1988-89 school year when I was teaching in Chengdu, China wrote to me this morning. He had moved down to Hainan (where the US surveillance plane was grounded) and said he "began to know something about Christianity." He said that he has often tried to make contact with me (we actually stayed in touch with each other for a few years). One day he said to his American colleague in the company he works for now, "I miss my former American teacher" and mentioned my name. His colleague said, "I know him" and gave him our e-mail address. I'm still baffled about who that is who knows me there. Our e-mail is only 2 months old so it has to be someone I'm in contact with, but I can't think who.

I see that you've recovered from all the "work" you did yesterday to keep the hurrican away from your coast. :)

Got it!

You're such a dear heart!

HOT DAMN gc watch yourself. I love your litany of things to do before the big blow. (Especially getting the BBQ ready.)

I get the same way before a blizzard hits. Kinda like battening down the hatches before you head into rough seas. You get that same adrenalin push! Man, oh man... You'r on the top of my prayer list buddy. If I were down there I'd be over to your place in a minute.

Stay safe amigo!

Of course I am better. I always obey orders. Yup, that's me. Totally obedient. Just ask my mom. Or husband. Or daughter.

Enjoy the bar-be-cue. Wish I was there.

John, good luck with the jet lag. The best way to get through it is to force the issue. Good luck. A good rule of thumb is one day adjustment for every time zone.

Yeah guy, it was a good thing to do. Although the timing wasn't too good, it made a man out of me. Gave me the ability to get a college education, and my first home. Plus, the VA medical care has become top notch (at least in my AO).

Morning kassie!

Autumn has arrived. High of 61 today, and the maples are starting to blush.

Speaking of blush... I heard the best analogy about Jesus's miracle when he turned the water into wine at the wedding at Cana. Here it is...

The living waters looked into the face of God, and blushed.

I just love that line!

That is so exciting! You never know when a seed planted earlier will germinate. Often we're unaware we're even "planting seeds."

The ISP is wimping out on me so I'm calling it quits.

If anyone sees LionsDaughter tell her I love her, miss her and want an email. Love, Mom

Ditto here.

I got through college, and also got my first home because of the VA.

I am forever grateful... except for maybe my DI.

Sgt. Steele. I remember when he first addressed us "ladies" at Lackland AFB. I remarked to the guy next to me... "Sgt. Steele?... You're putting me on." That cost me 50 push ups!

No jet lag so far. I went to bed around midnight (local) and was up at 7:00 without the alarm. Not as bad as Mike getting up at 5:00, but give me a day or two, and I'll be right there with him. Gotta go stand in the morning sunlight and drink my coffee.

Morning Jemian!

Long day at school yesterday, but how I love what I do.

Even if this class tests me to the limits, I will learn from it, and hopefully become better because of it!

I'm experienced with jetlag, John. I find mine is worse now than when I was younger. It seems to be common to have it much worse when you travel east (which you just did) so coming back from Asia is harder than going.

I often sleep pretty well the first night, but on subsequent nights I sometimes sleep for an hour or two, then am wide awake at, say, 1 am.

Last December I was exhausted and managed to just stay up until 6:30 in the evening and finally went to bed and got right to sleep. When I woke up it was still dark, but I was sure the sun was about to come up and that I had slept at least 10 hours. Then I checked the clock: 9 pm. I had slept a little over 2 hours!

We'll see how it works out. I intend to follow all of my time sensitive rituals, coffee and smokes in the morning watching the sun come up, etc. It seems to make it easier.

I thought of you yesterday(?) when we were trying to catch a bus from Osan to Inchon Airport at the downtown bus station. No-one at the bus station spoke any english, except for a street preacher that approached us. We assured him that everyone in our group was saved, and asked him for help on getting to the right bus. He not only did that, but prayed with us before we left.

I shared my "new" verse for the year with him; Galatians 6:9 "Don't be weary in doing good: for in time, we shall reap the harvest, if we don't faint." That particular verse jumped out at me during my travels, and was very appropriate for what I was/am going through. LOL!

Welcome home John! We're glad you're back.

The first thing that I remember about my DI was when we first got off the bus and lined up on the painted feet on the ground, a recruit (maggot) was staring at him. The recruit was standing next to me. We were (supposed to be) at attention. The Drill got in the face of the recruit and yelled, "Are you trying to eyeball f@#& me maggot?" I went ut oh, what did I get myself into?
