Thanks, Mom. You'll really enjoy your trip to Mt Rainier if the weather holds. I miss it.
Gavin was watching the Mariners game on TV (I don't know what channel) and ran into my room to tell me all about Lou's temper tantrum. He thought he was going to have to go to the hospital or something. I saw some of it on TV the following morning during the sports report. It was classic Lou!
I'm glad the cheeseburger Kingdome is gone (what a waste of money that renovation just before demolition was!) but people had better get some good paying jobs in the region if they're going to be able to afford tickets to the pricey games in the beautiful new stadiums.

Its not just the price of the tickets, its also the price of the food and the beer...its really outrageous....it seems like its almost too expensive for the average family with a few kids to be able to go out to the ballgame...and thats really a shame, for those at the lower end of the earning spectrum....
Andy, has been looking for jobs, since he got back from his world trip....he does not really need the money from a job yet, as he took a big contract job, while in Singapore, and they paid him an outrageous amount of money, so hes set for a while...
But he found out he was still eligible for unemployment, so he applied for it, and gets it...but in order to get it, he has to at least make the appearance of looking for a job, and while doing that up in Seattle, he finds really not a lot right now...
Thankfully, Andy had made a lot of contacts in his employement before his world trip, which has landed him several contract jobs here in the states...so he does those, and reports his earnings to unemployement, which I guess cuts off his unemployment funds for a while....
He figures he may just stick with contract jobs, which he can do at home, at his own pace, within the guidelines of the company that hired him....hes lucky he can do that, because as he said, the jobs are really kind of scarce right now..

I think that's what OCC's new job is - he's working for P&G on contract, but still goes there to work.
To: ValerieUSA
I don't have the luxury of working from home.... yet.

Andy did a job for a company in SunValley Idaho...most of the work he did right in his apartment here, but for tying up loose ends, he had to go to SunValley, the expense being paid by them....
He said, SunValley is really inhabited by rich people, lots of movie stars...luckily for Andy his former boss and his wife live there, and so Andy got to stay with them while finishing up his job, and got to see how the rich people live...
This former boss is now a millionaire several times over, from selling his company, so now he and his wife have opened an art gallery...thats Andys next contract job, coming up...building a website for their art gallery...hes lucky that he has lots of contacts...
He enjoyed being in SunValley, hes just not sure he would ever like living in such a rich community, as he will probably never be really rich...but I guess he enjoys taking little vacations there, visiting his old boss...

No offense, but why is he collecting unemployment?

Actrevist Susan Sarandon is on Charlie Rose... She says people refer to her as "the thinking man's sex symbol"! People being Tim Robbins in her case.

Here we go again .. and IMO this crap with boarding up the home has nothing to do with a custody matter ..
I'm just praying the outcome is not like the last time
MOVE says it's all about the kids

Yet the key to understanding MOVE through two bloody confrontations with Philadelphia police has been its attitude toward the children. It has raised and shielded them with unconventional techniques that adherents call nurturing but critics consider cultlike or harmful.Paging Janet Reno, you have another mission.

are you familiar with Move??
And in Philly it was Willie B. Goode that burnt the neighbor hood down

Ross has seen Zack Gilbride over the last three years, usually in her New York City office, but twice visited the MOVE house. She said she was amazed at the degree to which MOVE was child-oriented. "It's not typical of mainstream society," she said. "I was very impressed."
Visited twice in three years? Not typical of mainstream society? I smell an elitist Liberal who wants to affirm the socialist/collectivist lifestyle.

I was young, but I well remeber the MOVE debacle. I did forget the Mayor was named Will he be good?
To: Mo1
If the Mayor was not black, it would have been called genocide.

Political analyist Dr. Randall Miller, a history professor at St. Joseph's University, finds that a bit disingenuous, saying at least some people might expect to find out how much it costs for a ride to the airport: "Some people you'd put off by it, but others might not even understand what has just happened to them."
Nice to see the Republicans showing some backbone, unfortunately most democrats don't use the internet for information.
