SLCPD and FBI determined early on that Liz was not a runaway. They have experience in determining this, and criteria they follow. I posted it all a long time ago.
So that dog won't hunt.

Thanks for clearing up the mystery of Jengaio's sudden absence.
I guess we don't know all that passed btw her and the forum admin., but anyway I hope she comes back soon.
I am thinking that maybe it got ugly on some other thread, and this was the result. Certainly on these Smart threads, she never said anything objectionable that I ever saw. You know, I think it's good for a political forum to include some apolitical discussions--such as the poetry stuff and the humor stuff they have here. (Ordinarily, a crime discussion doesn't get too contentious either, b/c pretty much everyone can agree that they hate crime, but...I digress.) EVERYONE has some political or social issues which can get them really worked up. The non-political stuff, to me, provides a welcome break. I guess I'm just going by that old saying about lawyers--they eat and drink as friends, they are bitter enemies in the courtroom.
Msg. to Jengaio: Come back as soon as you can.

bonding techniques taught at the Cascade Center Now, see, this is just the sort of joke Jengaio posted about that tragic case involving the child abusers at that Cascade Center. Not a thing wrong with such a joke. Anyone with a brain knows you are not making light of the child's death. Some things are so horrible to contemplate that we need a break from imagining the disgusting and dreadful events that took place.
The people involved with that little girl are probably serious mental cases--at least, that's what I got, from reading that they actually believed this stuff about forcing water down someone's throat, and hearing about their behavior in the TV interview. IMO, though, their being mental cases does not excuse them from having to now pay the price for what they did to the helpless child.
As for Ed and Lois, if they are really on a cruise (and I'm beginning to doubt that), you can bet that standing nearby on deck are probably an investigator or two, and also probably some people from the National Enquirer.

I think that it is possible that the family has been given information by LE that indicates that Elizabeth is no longer with us. I believe that LE pretty much knows who was behind the abduction and feels that Liz is almost certainly dead. I think they are still trying to build a case but with Ricci gone it is going to be difficult unless they find the body and even then if too much time has passed it could end up like the Chandra Leavy case. They want other people to give up their time and search for Elizabeth, while they go on vacation. If they believed Elizabeth to be dead, how can they continue to ask strangers to look for her.
I don't care if the police told me she was more than likely dead or not. There isn't any body. Until Elizabeth comes back or her body is discovered, there would be no closure.

SLCPD and FBI determined early on that Liz was not a runaway. And I, for one, think that the fact that she left wearing her pajamas is one of the factors that led them to conclude that she wasn't a runaway.
I do think, though, that maybe whoever led her out of that house said something to her that lulled her into a false sense of security. Perhaps that false sense of security ended about the time the neighbors heard that "shout."
The fact that she has not resurfaced, apparently not even a trace of her, tells us that no matter how she left that house, she's probably been the victim of foul play. So really it wouldn't matter even if she had run away, the end result is the same.
I'm sure suicide has long ago been ruled out, too, since as we heard often in the Chandra investigation, a suicide cannot bury his/her own body.
Sandude said a while back that the police have probably said something to the Smarts that has helped them realize that Elizabeth is almost surely no longer with us. That's true, but I remember that the Smarts were, just a short time ago, all fired up about finding that pig-roast guy--even though they clearly thought that he had maybe been digging a GRAVE. I think--I hope--that the Smarts will keep on trying until they at least find out what happened. After that, they may lose interest, as did the poor Levys, and I wouldn't blame them. Though it's also important to find out who committed the crime, I'd think that finally finding their loved one's dead body would send anyone into a downward spiral for quite some time.

Thanks for posting that "message from cyberspace" from Jengaio, Sandude.
Jengaio, I can't think of a thing. I did see where you'd commented on the color of someone's neck, but you know, in the context of what was posted on that thread, I don't see a thing wrong with what you said. I would expect you to take a stand for your own views, and if that comment was what was "objectionable," all I can say is, someone is sure sensitive. And if someone is that sensitive, they need to grow up. So keep on keeping on, and come back.

I'm late. Any good news?? Well...not exactly! When you've finished reading this thread, you'll find that the only news is that Ed and Lois were rumored to have gone on a cruise...and Jengaio is in limbo somewhere. Hey, you don't suppose Jengaio is on that cruise, perhaps in the cabin next to theirs, with a listening device....

Last week at a grocery store by my house there was a large poster of Elizabeth Smart with all her statistics, date last seen, etc. It was on the back of a bench. Since this is in Phoenix, I wonder if they are posting these in states outside of Utah for a reason. Usually, the posters I see are of kids who were kidnapped here in Arizona.
To: FR_addict
If they believe she is dead, they need to find her body to be sure of it.
I don't fault them for going on vacation -- they and their kids need a break from this. It won't do the parents much good, but it will help normalize things for their children.
They are parents who have a family to think about, under the most heartbreaking of circumstances, not generals marshalling the troops in a war zone.
Get a grip.

So that dog won't hunt. That dog will hunt. Might not find anything, but it will hunt.
To: sandude
I don't think it is possible that MK could tell a lie that could fool everyone involved for over three months.Who said she was lying?? Could be she saw what she THOUGHT she saw.
To: varina davis
You dog won't hunt for long. Eventually, it will discover it's barking up the wrong tree, and not waste its time on that any more. :-)

Well said. We certainly need Jengaio's viewpoint here.

1. I have sought the truth and invite you to do the same.
2. Maybe you don't know all that you think you know about LDS beliefs.
3. In regards to polygamy, LDS don't practice it anymore either, I was only pointing out that men can still be servants of God and be in that practice. New testament says a bishop should have only one wife.
4. Even Jesus cast certain people out of the temple. Also they were told not to marry unbelievers.
5. I don't know where you get your information but we do believe he is an eternal member of the Godhead. Our first article of faith says, "We believe in God the Eternal Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost." That is the Godhead. The problem is that many enemies of us continue to propigate lies about what we believe and how we believe in things.
6. I read from the old and new testament. I also read from the Book of Mormon. It testifies of Him also. Have you ever read it? or do you only read opinions of others about who also haven't read it? I believe it came from God. I believe He (God) has added to His word. Just like in the past he has called an imperfect man to be a prophet. Just like in the past many rejected the prophets God called because they couldn't or wouldn't see it.
We do many Christian things around the world with organizations like the Salvation Army, the Catholic relief organization, the Red Cross and others. The accusation of secrecy has to do with what I call sacredness of things that happen in the temple. Every person alive could go into those temple and find out what is taught there but they have to meet the requirements. It is open to all and we invite all to prepare and go. Even you could!
You have your opinions and I have mine. It is obvious to me the truth of a statement made long ago applies here to the futility of the argument, "a man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still".
I will attempt to answer any legitimate questions you have about my belief but I won't respond any more to obviously distorted accusations. It does not do any one any good. But if you want to discuss things of how I really perceive things, not in the attempt to convert anyone, but in the spirit of gaining knowledge I will gladly share those things. Thanks again.

The Court Tv Message Board is saying that Lois was interrogated for 3 hours yesterday by the FBI.
Here is a quote:
She was questioned for three hours by the FBI, alone.

I can't fathom any parent after having their child taken AT GUN POINT, and yet not found, to go on a vacation.
If this is true, and I have no way of knowing if it is, then why did John Walsh say that their coming on his program was the first time they have left their house? (That is stated on his web site.)? So what is it? John Walsh Show, Vacation, or Interrogation? It will all come out....one day.

I think they posted them because, there was a sighting of elizabeth in arizona. The sighting turned out to be someone else. This happened just this week.
To: Neenah
Maybe that is really what is going on with Lois and Ed and the rumor is just to ward off the media and confuse them.
To: scaredkat
Jengaio, I dont know what happened. I hope they find it was an error and send you right back. You are missed! I cant believe this happened.
