Your date is a whole month away? That's too long... your nerves will be shot. Go on a couple of dates before then. *L*

Well, there is a reason it's a month away. He is in Hawaii and is flying to the mainland for a class reunion in California. I am going to be in Colorado at the same time that he will be over here and he wants to fly out there for the weekend. So we're kinda on a schedule. We've been chatting for 2 years and have gotten to know each other pretty well. I will still be a wreck though.

He lives in Hawaii ???
Well so what plans do ya have for the date??

"It's a good way to lose weight" Yeah, I think there may be something to that. I'm already noticing that I'm not eating as much. I'm already nervous. We've wanted to meet for a long time, but obviously, logistics are problematic. Last time he was here we talked on the phone but he was here for some specialized training in Alabama and was on too tight a schedule to do anything else.

Well, no definite plans. We talked about going hiking in the mountains, dinner, movies, the usual kinds of stuff. Most likely stuff he can't really do in Hawaii. He lived in Colorado at one time and he likes outdoor stuff like I do. I know you don't relate to that real well. LOL!

Just wanted to drop by and say hello. I arrived in Boise this afternoon. I was selected for special attention at the Oakland airport - wanded and patted down, and mh shoes were inspected. I feel so much safer, and I'm sure everyone else on the flight was pleased to know that I wasn't carrying any weapons or explosives.

...the funny thing is that the "security" worker didn't really search my purse or carry-on. Just kinda looked inside.

You must have looked polite and mild... they don't want to mess with the mean-looking passengers. Real trouble might mess up their lunch schedule.

I was picked at check-in. My boarding pass was marked. They check my suitcase for explosvies residue. Fortunately, there wasn't any. I hadn't ever used my suitcase and carryon for a range bag, carrying my ammo and guns. I had remembered to remove my speed loader from my purse, so I was OK.

"can't ya just drive to the spot .. " You just don't drive down a trail to a waterfall or to pretty, isolated spots in the mountains. Oh yeah, we probably will drive up in the mountains to see the aspens changing though. Should be about the right time. The mountains look like a blanket of shimmering gold when the Aspens are changing.

Well I know I feel better just knowing that they are singling out all the non-mideasterners, especially FReeper women. You know what hotheads FReepers can be...especially the gun nuts. Hehehe...

I had considered bringing a gun in my checked baggage, which is still "allowed", but decided against it. I figured I was going to get singled out since I had a one-way ticket, which seems to be a flag. I know I looked pretty scary!

I'm not joking about that one. I really had a speed loader in there, with .38 hollow points in it. I don't think that would have gone over too well.
