Hola Ladies,
The wife and I went to a Sept. 11, memorial ceremony in town last night. Was interesting, representatives of the town's firefighters all attended in their best uniforms. The place was full of military and cops too. The vice counsel from the US Embasy in Santiago was here also. There are a lot of expats in this little town so the place was packed. There is a very active Chile-North America business development association and the sponsored a children's art contest. There were some very touching water colors done by 8 to 13-year olds.
It was nice to see that not everyone in the world hates the USA...the Chileans have been very supportive and sympathetic. I suspect partly because this country is so strongly Catholic...87% I believe, and they are pretty intolerant of religious loonies like the Taliblam.
Cheers all

Thanks for the SA report. The President's UN speech should rock their spineless world - he's not kidding folks. Thank God.
