AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 598) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | September 10, 2002 | All of Us

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!![President Bush]

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

The military deployed anti-aircraft missile batteries around the National capital yesterday for a four-day defensive exercise. The exercise is designed to test the integration of F-16 combat air patrol and ground level portable missile defense.

President Bush has stated it is not the job of the United States to determine who rules in a post-Saddam Iraq.

Lawmakers will hold a news conference today to state what they have found in their probe of Martha Stewart.

In a piece posted on The Boston Channel, Helen Thomas writes that September 11, 2001, changed America, but not for the better. She also said the phrase "homeland security" was an "alien term."

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Chair, do you think this is a good idea?

From a civics point of view, no, because if you're in line to vote, you'll vote - simply get back in line if you couldn't vote earlier. It presents an opportunity for ballot box stuffing.

From the Governor's point of view, it's a no-brainer, do it. He has nothing to lose - it's not a Republican contest. So while it is wrong from a civics standpoint, politically it gives him points - it makes him look like he is looking out for the voter and defuses a potential issue that would have been used in the fall campaign - the 2000 election. Besides, if Reno really can stuff the box, all the better for him. So he wins on both ends.

ugh ... Utah Girl ... so she is 100% against any preemptive strike ... anytime anhwhere?!

I hope she is not a parent .... a calling which regularly calls for preemptive strikes ... there's not a world of difference between the two, really.

Hi all...I am back after being AWOL for awhile...had a lot happen in the last 10 days? since I last posted. I'll try and get you all up to speed...

The Friday of the Labor Day weekend, Mr. Brady's (the principal) sister-in-law died of cancer. She had only been diagnosed with it in June. On Saturday night, his daughter Meaghan (don't know if you remember me asking you guys to say prayers for her a couple of years ago?) died in her sleep. Then, on Sunday, one of the 4th grade student's mother died (she was 34). Needless to say, it was a very difficult week. 3 Funerals in 3 days.

This past Saturday, my father was taken to the ER by ambulance because he was having trouble breathing, was experiencing pain in his right side/back and also shoulder pain in his left shoulder. They gave him some medicine in the ambulance and the pain eased up in his shoulder, but never completely went away in his right side. They did another catscan that afternoon. Later on that night, the ER doctor who admitted him asked him if he had ever been diagnosed with lymphoma. Of course you would think that if he had been, he might have mentioned this to the doctor, but that's beside the point anyway. My mother said, "No, he hasn't, why?" The doctor said that all of his lymph nodes were swollen and lymphonic? cancer might be the culprit. Of course my parents were an absolute wreck the entire night. When his regular doctor came in on Sunday, she said she did not see anything there that would have indicated lymphoma. My mother did not share this with us until after this doctor talked to them, so she went home all by herself Saturday night thinking the worst. To make matters worse, my Dad was in a lot of pain Saturday night and they had to give him morphine. Then, later on, another doctor came in (one that had treated him the last time he was in) and said that the doctor who admitted him on Saturday had looked at the wrong catscan and had admitted him for "trouble breathing" when in actuality it was not that, it was the pain in his right side. This doctor told my father that he should never have been admitted; however, he then said that since my Dad had been having such bad indigestion, they wanted to do another catscan of his stomach. They did..and then they gave him a prescription for pain and sent him home. I talked to him today and he said that he is feeling a little better but can't eat alot because of the indigestion; also, he was going to the lung doctor to find out what they are going to do with the mass in his lower left lung. His blood levels are still too high or low or whatever; he's at a 1.6 when he should be in the 2.5 to 3.0 range (meaning his blood is still too thick) and so they upped his Cumadin prescription to 4mg. I am still waiting to find out what they found out.

We are leaving for Canada on the 12th to go to a wedding; however, if I hear that my Dad has to have surgery in the next few days I will just fly to Atlanta as planned and just stay there instead of going on to Buffalo. I am NOT looking forward to crossing the border back into the US, as my mother-in-law is making me a nervous wreck with all the "stuff" I'm suppossed to bring to "prove" that I am a US Citizen. Weehao.

And last but not least, South Floridian Democrats have proved just exactly how stupid they can be, as Governer Bush ordered the polls to stay open until 9:00pm since there were "voting snafus" and general "confusion" down that way. I voted at 8:30am sharp and I had no problems filling in the little circles.

I think that's all....:0) Deej

Yes! And it was a welcome reprive!

But, it's once again time to head out into the fray! I will check in tomorrow (or possibly later this evening if possible!)

Stay vigilant, and above all please stay safe everyone!

I can't believe Broward county managed to mess up the voting this morning. Unbelievable...
