A Navy officer signs a bomb attached to the wing of an aircraft on the flight deck of the USS Enterprise in the Arabian Sea, Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001. Actually this is a navy ordnanceman (redshirt)doing checks before flight. This is the photo that got Hillary's panties in a knot and after an appropriate investigation, the Navy said, "It's taken care of".

Yeah, it's clearly not an officer; that's the AP caption.

I have mixed feelings. My original reaction was that the bastards involved in Sept. 11 and other anti-American stuff are faggots. But that denotes a homosexual lifestyle, which I do not believe all of them live. So I just call them bastards. This is still childish name-calling, I realize, but I could really care less at this point in time.
On the other hand, why are our armed forces too stupid to spell a relatively common six-letter word correctly? It portrays a bad image.
Just my thoughts.

Yep, sure do remember it. Hoped it landed with a big, badda boom on some al-Queda members.

Actually, a "Faggot" is a stick used for starting a wood fire. A "bastard" is a child born to an unmarried woman.
Since alQueda were "burned" in Afganistan, the Navy is correct in calling them faggots.
