seem to remember the brain trust at Larry King saying a "cat burglar" doesn't usually carry a gun.Spore, no one actually knows for sure there WAS a gun. No evidence of it whatsoever. MK thought she saw a gun, but it could have been a toy or a flashlight or something else.
I think it's true that burglars don't generally resort to weapons. They're not interested in the penalties that go with weapons use.

The truth about the RiccisYou don't know any "truth" about the Riccis.

JG, I think you're jealous of the Ricci's and the love they shared. You must be a lonely guy. Your deductive reasoning on this post is as lame as most of the others you make on these threads. Kind of like Lakey (I think) speculating that I was some shriveled up old man. No logic. No facts. Just wishful thinking. Reality seems to be a foreign concept for you.

I don't think you're a shriveled up old man. I think you are a shriveled up younger man, shriveled inside. Bereft of sensitivity and human emotion.
And if you use the word "lame" one more time, I will think your brain is shriveled, as well.

Ricci just happened to have a gun on him when he shot the cop and robbed the banks.

"Did you ever hear Moul talk about the machette Ricci was wearing at his waist?" Never! Not even with his interview with AB. Give a link, please.
Like I said, the police I'm sure told him not to reveal this. I saw it on one or two occasions and his father-in-law said police told him Moul said this.

This is the only link I found where Ricci was suppose to be wearing the machete when he returned the car.
It quotes unidentified sources as the source.
"Sources told ABCNEWS that Ricci was seen carrying a machete when he dropped off the Jeep."
The story describes everything else Moul said previously, but does not say Moul said Ricci was wearing a machete.
The machete story seems to have appeared after they found a machete in Angela's father's shed.

Huh! Varina has suggested that I might be lonely, too. What do you make of that? Think it will replace point-counterpoint in the skill of rhetoric? Varina has never let facts get in the way of her fantasies.

I have been lurking on the freerepublic Smart Case threads from the beginning, even before Brigette started her daily threads. I invite you to the Smoky Backroom to view the comments that I just couldn't keep to myself any more.
While I am not willing to mentally exonerate the Smarts yet, I try to follow any tidbit which will help solve the mystery of this case. I am more suspicious of Ricci than of the Smarts. There is also a good possibility that this case was begun by neither Ricci nor any of the Smarts. Like you, I have yet to see anything concrete which would serve as a basis for suspecting any of the Smarts. I am sickened by the teary-eyed, sheeplike following that Angela Ricci has acquired as of last night's interview. I don't think she is involved, but I refuse to see her as some sort of victim or heroine. She is indeed bereaved, but it was only a matter of time before the convict she married would have broken her heart (and maybe her face) anyway.
And yes, I'm a brand-new sign on. Let them have at it with the usual sneers and suspicions. I've been reading and enjoying freerepublic for 2-3 years.

Are Mormons Christians? The ones who appear on these threads certainly don't sound like Christians.
Yes we are Christians, and sometimes we slip up just like everyone else were not perfect either.

Deseret News
The machete-like knife, which Morse described as having a 12-inch blade and six-inch handle, was used to cut small branches from the tree in his yard, he said.
SL Tribune
Federal agents investigating the disappearance of Elizabeth Smart have confiscated a tan golf cap and large, machete-style knife from the home of a family member of Richard Albert Ricci, the man police have focused on in recent days.

What a vicious remark! Did you see the show or video? She beamed. If you doubt that, maybe I'll send you the clip. It is more than a little hypocritical of you, Bella, varina, IamHD, lakey and others to parse every word or the body language of Ed, Lois or Tom Smart and yet be critical of an accurate observation of Angela's fifteen minutes of fame.
Are Mormons Christians? The ones who appear on these threads certainly don't sound like Christians. Christians are exhorted in the Bible to take care of widows and orphans; to speak kindly of them; to watch over them.
How kind of you. If your spouse died, would you be on a worldwide cable network reading your love letters before the funeral? Would you even consider writing a book? Would you have a PR person? Does your Christian upbringing also teach you to bash Mormons or other Christians on a regular basis?

I am 100% believing that the kidnapper was a very important person, (city offical) (le) (parole officer)this is why there is such a big cover from the police, fbi and they are making/letting the smarts think they are running the show. (The smarts are not) they may think so but theyre not. Has anyone here heard about the scaredstrieght that goes on with parents and teenagers? Parents do things to scare the children so they have better control with them? It happens in this state(this is not a religion thing please dont go there), they even have camps to send teens to by their parents. teens have also died from these scare camps. Also point to ponder this is called a kidnapping why? kidnapping deals with a ransome, abduction which all other missing children are listed under is when someunknown takes a child. Is there some kind of ransome going on we dont know about? Was she being sent to one of the camps or was it another scared parent thing that tom and ed and planned that went very very wrong?
